What's been your experience with "launching" on AppSumo? Any lessons learned? Been investigating AppSumo as a possible marketplace, for a January Launch - what should I be pondering? Leadtimes for get in their marketplace, etc.-

The main goal of the launch was not only to make a profit, it was important for us to understand exactly what customers need right now and how our product can help them. Our senior product manager conducts conversations with users and analyzes the market in order to create the right roadmap for our further development.
Appsumo users leave really honest feedback, give advice and other comments, unlike your friends or acquaintances whom you ask to check your service, because they pay you money and want to get the tool.
Most importantly, be honest, friendly to your customers and don't make any promises to please everyone.
Be prepared to provide good support and respond quickly to user requests. This is one of the foundations not only of selling in Appsumo, but of your business as a whole.
In any case, I recommend that you do this, in our case, we did not provide all the packages for our service, but left the most profitable solutions for subsequent sale. Make a funnel and it will work well for you.

I also like this idea - you don't have to "give it all away" in the first sale. You can hold features/functions back for enhanced users and revenue.

But Appsumo pay 10% to 20% to website owner. That is main problem. You will end up burden of users with lifetime account who will drain your server resources for years without paying for monthly cost.

Apssumo takes a commission of 30% if the buyer is a member of Appsumo, for new users they take 5%.As for the development and support of our servers, there are no problems in this. When you raise money for your startup, you offer your share or shares of the company and you will do so for life. Therefore, I consider Ap the best option for growth, and here we also have the opportunity to gather a community that, unlike investors, will have a positive impact

I agree ... take "investor money" or "customer money" ? Think of your lifetime customers as "angle investors" in your company. Early adopters can be a wealth of information, make them feel special, turn them into "evangelists" for your product.
You can limit the number to "lifetime" customers - there is never just one way to go to market - some well established, some not, but it's not necessarily wrong to investigate and test different ways to do it.

- If they promote or run marketing campaign for your app then they take 70-90% of the revenue.
