Finished MVP of Oddshero

Pretty much exactly one month after we had the idea to build Oddshero we are ready to launch into open Beta: https://oddshero.io/

I'm so excited for feedback and still amazed how fast time goes by if you're working on something that exciting.

If you have any question about the product, let me know. And yes, it really works, matched betting is generally a well recognised strategy to win money 100% risk-free. I personally make 300-400 EUR a week with Oddshero :)

We built everything on firestore, cloud functions, with gatsby (my first), and react-create-app.

Gatsby is so blazingly fast, I hope you'll see how quickly the pages load, on desktop and mobile, I'm really happy with the result.

The layout and responsiveness of the website are fantastic! Also, sounds very interesting and I may check it out!

Thanks for the feedback! Making everything fast and responsive was one of the main features we challenged ourselves with :) Gatsby is an amazing framework for sure!

  2. 2

    Congrats, really impressive iteration speed!

How are you guys handling importing all the odds from various bookies?

    1. 1

      Thanks a lot! :)

Actually we buy the odds feed externally, scraping and updating odds in real-time for 65+ bookies is not feasible for a team of 3 :). Costs for that are roughly 5k EUR/month

      1. 1

        Yeah wondered about that!

I'm in the process of building that import process. Certainly not easy.

Love the product man, nice differentiator on engaging people to sign up externally

        1. 2

Yeah, first off, using affiliate links to bookmakers would turn off users regarding the viability of our product (as bookies would be paying us for the users), and second bookmakers hate matched bettors, so they wouldn't be too happy with us as an affiliate anyways :P

If you're building something in this realm and need help, let me know in a pm. Maybe I can be of help :)

          1. 1

Yeah, the whole affiliate/merchant relationship can cause some anxiety for sure.

I only joined an hour ago hah!. Doesn't look like i'm allowed to message?! Would be nice to discuss a bit

    Wow! Very interesting product!
Nice layout too! Will definitely register.

I know how difficult it is to build something in this space, with bookies not exactly happy to have customers like yours.

Is there any region restriction on the bets? Will it work in Italy for example?

I wish you the best of luck!

    1. 1

      Thanks Antonio, really appreciate it!

Yes, bookmakers are not really a fan of winning customers :D

Generally it works for all countries and regions, but not all bookmakers may be available in every country. We'll write some blog posts about it soon, because that's a frequently asked question, but Italy should be okay for quite some bookies :)

Clever product, really well layed out landing page. Maybe a few too many repeating elements but overall very good.

I'm a product designer at a sports betting company. Feel free to hmu if you need feedback in the future.

    1. 1

Awesome, thanks Ben! I'll definitely take you up on this at some point :)

Hi Jan, awesome looking landing page. Is it built from scratch?

    1. 1

      Thanks mate!
I've gotta give credits to https://redq.io/react-next-landing for that, but the app you see when you sign up is built from scratch :)

Very nice looking site, unfortunately as soon as I login, none of the pages (dashboard, profile, blog etc) are responsive. I just see the pulsing icon indefinitely. (I'm using chrome on desktop).

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, it’s some issue we’re working on, some User signups don’t trigger correctly.

You’re set up now and good to go in your account :)

      1. 1

        Yup works now! Thanks!

  7. 1

I'm impress about your time to deliver the MVP, good job !

    1. 1

Thanks mate! We've spent considerable time on building frameworks (website, blog, firebase saas), that we can reuse now to build products a lot faster :)
