July 28, 2026 How I built a 100% client-side suite of 109+ web tools with $0 server costs

I just launched the product page for OmniDeck (https://omnideck.cc), and I wanted to share a bit about why and how I built it.

The Problem

Like many developers and makers, I use quick web utilities daily—formatting JSON, decoding JWTs, checking regex, or inspecting network data. But most popular online tools have become terribly bloated, covered in aggressive ads, or worse: they process your sensitive payloads on remote servers with unknown logging policies.

The Solution

I built OmniDeck as a zero-friction, privacy-first utility hub. Every tool runs 100% locally in your browser's memory—no backend database, no user tracking, no signups, and no intrusive pop-ups or paywalls blocking your workflow.

The Architecture

  • Frontend: Pure Vanilla JS, HTML, and a single global CSS file.

  • Edge Layer: A single Cloudflare Worker handling routing and using HTMLRewriter to dynamically inject localized Open Graph tags, canonical URLs, and structured JSON-LD schemas (WebApplication & FAQPage) on the fly.

  • Performance: Instant global load times with practically $0/month in infrastructure costs.

It currently features 109+ tools across categories like Dev, Crypto, Network, Image, PDF, and AI (using a Bring-Your-Own-Key model).

    The privacy-first angle makes sense for utility tools where users often paste sensitive data without thinking twice.

    The interesting challenge is discoverability — with 100+ tools, the hard part may be helping users find the one they need at the exact moment they have the problem.
