June 14, 2026 I spent 6 months testing 175+ AI tools so my directory wouldn't be another listicle site. Here's what actually made money.

Built OneAIGuide because I was tired of signing up for AI tools that looked great and broke on the first real project.

175 tools tested. 47 paid for. 12 kept. 3 that actually moved revenue.

The pattern no one talks about:

The tools that make money aren't the ones with the best demos. They're the ones that don't break when you're tired, under deadline, and your client is watching.

What actually worked for my stack:

  • Claude for long-form client proposals. Only tool that handles 50-page docs without losing the thread.

  • Kling + Runway for video deliverables. Kling for motion that doesn't clip, Runway for polish. $47/month combined, replaced a $1,200 freelancer.

  • Suno for background music in client videos. Not amazing, but good enough for drafts in 30 seconds.

  • Replit for deploying the directory itself. Live in a weekend, zero DevOps.

What didn't work:

  • All-in-one "AI suites." They're wrappers around the same 3 APIs, slower and more expensive.

  • Tools with no export function. Your data is their hostage.

  • Anything requiring a 12-month subscription to test properly.

The real challenge:

Not building the directory. Keeping it honest when every tool maker wants to be featured and every competitor is a listicle site with sponsored placements.

Question for you:

What's the one AI tool in your stack that actually moved revenue - not saved time, but made money? Not the one you tested. The one you kept paying for!

One thing I'd be careful with:

The interesting question may not be which AI tools made money.

It may be what people are actually trusting when they come back to OneAIGuide.

Those sound similar, but they can lead to very different decisions once monetization starts becoming important.

I wouldn't make that call casually too early.

I definitely understand what your saying but in this case it depended on my job so the 'money' part was important, maybe i should have been more clear about the situation. But thank you very much for your reply Aryan!
