First paid subscription!

It took the customer almost 6 months to exceed the free plan quota, but eventually they did upgrade. We're now thinking how can we shrink the trial time, but offer more value from the start at the same time. Options are: offer a short trial, and then disable an account when it ends vs. give a short trial, and then disable some premium features at the end of it. Second option seems preferable, the only problem is that we don't have any premium features yet :)

    How does the quota work? Is 6 months what it usually takes for someone to exceed it, now?

      We currently allow an unlimited trial and as you to switch to the next plan when you create 100 Q&As in the system. Our initial guess was that 0-100 Q&As roughly indicates that people still testing the app, 100-1000 - they're serious about it and the app got some adoption within the team, 1000+ - the app is widely adopted.
      In practice, however, a lot of teams drop off way before they reach their first 100 and we're trying to figure out exactly why.

      The project is quite a long running one. We're working on a current idea for a bit over a year now, and we have >300 teams who signed up for a free trial. Most of them a tiny and will never convert however, there are a few bigger ones, who seem to be really interested in the product like that. We're currently working hard on improving the product, demonstrate value earlier and shorten the time from trial to upgrade.
      I think customers are mostly coming from 1) ProductHunt launches, 2) our landing page 3) Slack store.

        Just wondering, does the Slack App Directory drive any meaningful traffic into your app? My previous experience with it was sort of disappointing, but maybe I was just doing something wrong 😊

          We were featured on the main page as a "Brilliant bot", so it does drive 3-5 daily app signups (not too many, but at our stage that's what we need). The problem is that most of them are 2-3 people workspaces created, I guess, just for testing Slack apps or smth.
