Hey Indie Hackers,

Hope you're all doing well!

I wanted to share a bit about a little project I've been pouring my heart into lately. Like many of you, I've been fascinated by all the cool things AI can do. But honestly? I also found myself getting a bit lost and overwhelmed. So many different apps for chat, then others for making images, and trying to keep track of it all (and the costs!) was starting to feel like a job in itself.

I just wished there was one simple spot on my phone where I could play with some of these powerful AI tools without all the fuss.

So, being a developer, I decided to try and build it myself! That’s how OneChat AI started. It’s an Android app, and my goal was pretty straightforward: put some of the best AI for chatting (like GPT-4o and Claude), creating images (like Stable Diffusion and DALL-E 3), and helping with little tasks, all into one friendly place.

It's been quite the journey so far – lots of late nights, learning curves (especially with making all the different AI services play nicely together and designing an interface that doesn't add to the confusion!).

We actually launched on the Play Store not too long ago, and it's been amazing to see about 3,200 people give it a try, with around 620 folks using it pretty regularly. Right now, everyone gets some free credits each day to use all the features, so people can really explore what's possible.

I'm still figuring things out as I go, mostly trying to listen to what people find useful and what could be better. It’s definitely a "building in public" kind of vibe for me, and I'm learning so much every day.

More than anything, I just wanted to share this part of my indie journey. It's exciting, a bit scary, and a whole lot of learning! If anyone else has been on a similar path building a tool to scratch their own itch, or if you have any thoughts on navigating the wild world of AI as a solo builder, I'd love to hear about your experience.
