OneUp
OneUp is a social media scheduling tool π
OneUp is now one of the first social media scheduling tools that supports DIRECT posting of videos to TikTok (with captions and thumbnails) ππ
Website: www.oneupapp.io
To celebrate, we are doing a TikTok video contest and giving away $1000.
Here's how it works:
-
Create a video showing how you can schedule and post directly to TikTok (and Shorts and Reels if you'd like) with OneUp
-
Post the video on TikTok, Reels, or Shorts
-
Email the link(s) to your video(s) to davis@oneupapp.io
The 1st place video that gets the most views will win $500
2nd place will win $200
3rd, 4th, and 5th place will win $100 each.
The contest will run until April 30, 2023. Only 1 prize can be won per person.
After 3 years, we have reached $50k MRR
We've been able to reach this level with only me and my co-founder Vishal - no employees.
The crazy thing is... Vishal and I have never met in person, even though we've been working together for 3 years.
He's in India and I'm in the US.
We had plans on meeting face-to-face a while back, but then COVID happened.
So for now we just continue to Zoom a couple times a week, wondering how tall the other person actually is.
Onward to the next big milestone: $83,333 MRR π
I shared more of the story in a long Twitter thread:

Congrats!
Question: why are your users choosing OneUp over say... Buffer? I always thought social media scheduling is an overcrowded space.

@davis - Congrats to you and Vishal on this milestone. It would be great if you could share with the community how you scaled your business and grew your customer list. Thanks :)

The short answer: SEO and content marketing
The long answer: I am writing a book that goes into detail on all the ways we've found customers.
Here is the first chapter of the book, which goes over our strategy for marketing on Reddit π€ https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hDTWgD-VQoBrvwsuLDqDYNMenKhIXVeApKc0L5oaUDQ/edit?usp=sharing

What caught my attention is that you have never met your cofounder. I have worked with couple of amazing people from India in my StartUp journey and yet have never met them at all. 8years later!

Congrats on the milestone. This is amazing how we can build truly remote companies.
Just wondering how have you structured the company and where?
-

Congrats on the milestone!
How did you get all the Capterra reviews? Did you pay for their service? Is it worth it?
-
2
Nope, never paid Capterra anything.
We just ask users to leave a review on Capterra whenever they say they're happy with the product

Congratulations on the milestone, and also - thanks for sharing re team setup! Inspiring that such a small and entirely distributed duo can deliver results like this in so short time!

Thanks Jules, hope it can be an inspiration to others to team up

Love this Davis! My own experience is that working with a remote co-founder we can work REALLY well. I have a business partner in Russia that I have met twice. SINCE 2002!! We have a remote team for one of my other businesses, that was set up in 2012, and we have only met a few of the people. My view is that the focus is on the work and you do not have other things that get in the way and that can ruin a relationship. Well done and good luck to the $1m ARR

It's a Twitter thread scheduler
We are launching OneUp's Twitter thread scheduler on Product Hunt today.
With OneUp's Twitter thread scheduler, you can schedule Twitter threads in advance, and also add up to 4 images on each tweet in your thread - just like you can on Twitter.
Check it out on Product Hunt π€

Hi Davis, This seems a novel product.
How much time did it take you to develop this? Was it just two of you behind the product or do you have a team? And lastly what did you develop this in?
Much thanks and all the best! I really love it when we have such enabling tools out in the market.
I received a reply to the automated welcome email in OneUp... from my mom.
She started an online teaching curriculum, and wanted to use OneUp to schedule her social media posts.
And here I was thinking she didn't even know the name of our company π
She wanted to pay, but I insisted on switching her to a free account. Small repayment for the thousands of dollars of food she provided for me all growing up!

Hey, how nice! She must be proud of you. I know a lot of entrepreneurs who find it hard to explain to their parents what they're business is about. Especially when it's online.

I got my mom as an angel investor β
Saw some traffic coming from noonies.hackernoon in Google Analytics.
Did some digging, and found that OneUp has been nominated for "Most exciting startup" in Hackernoon's 1st Annual Noonies.
Never thought we'd be competing for awards with SuperHuman! π
