Thinkforu.org Online Notepad - Free Text Editor

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

I recently launched a simple but useful tool: Online Notepad – Free Text Editor under my project ThinkForU.org.

The idea came from a real pain point:

• Students wanted a quick, distraction-free notepad without ads or logins.

• Small business owners needed a simple place to jot invoices, notes, or lists that could be saved instantly.

• Existing apps were either too heavy, full of ads, or required signups.

So, I built a lightweight, browser-based notepad that:
✅ Works instantly (no login, no downloads)
✅ Auto-saves locally in the browser
✅ Lets you download notes as TXT or PDF
✅ Mobile-friendly for quick edits on the go
✅ Privacy-first (your notes never leave your device)

Right now, it’s part of a bigger vision: ThinkForU.org — a growing hub of free online tools for students, creators, and small businesses (like receipt generators, planners, calculators, etc.).

My goals with this:

• Learn in public & improve the tool based on community feedback

• See if people actually want simple, clutter-free utilities

• Slowly grow ThinkForU.org into a trusted library of free, everyday tools

Would love to hear your feedback 🙏

• Do you still use simple notepads like this, or have you moved to Notion/Obsidian/Google Docs?

• What one extra feature would make you switch to using this regularly?

Thanks for reading, and if you try the notepad, I’d love your thoughts!
