After the Huge success I had on Product Hunt I went ahead and submitted the url to hacker news. Turns out people loved it and I according to that beautiful audience I suck at coding.
After a couple of hours the link reached the second position and remained there for like 3 hours. Traffic from hacker news was 10x the amount Product Hunt sent. It was awesome to see people actually enjoying something I built ☺
Launched on producthunt late on Friday 9th.
At 7am I woke up and my twitter and email had exploded. Tons of form submissions, and people @ me.
Turned out my Google Analytics config was breaking all links and I didn't have my pc with me. I borrowed one from a friend and was able to delete the Google Analytics script messing with the links.
I didn't have access to a pc for the rest of the day, so even I wasn't able to restore Google Analytics. So I have no idea how many people visited my site during It's launch day 🤦♂️

That is so annoying! I'm sure it was a pain not to know numbers 😭
I'm releasing https://trackmylift.app at the end of August. Is there any steps you took to reach the top spot?

Well ... I launched on Saturday (submit late on Friday) because I once read that was the easiest day to reach the top. But it is probably the day with the least traffic. I wish I could say I did something clever to reach 1st but It was just luck to be honest.
