Plain-English UK area reports from official government data

March 18, 2026 Making UK public data usable for normal people

I built OpenGov DataHub after noticing how hard it is to answer basic questions about

an area in the UK. Things like crime, flood risk, NHS waits, school ratings, council

tax, and house prices exist in public datasets, but they’re fragmented and hard for

normal people to compare. I wanted to make that information clear, accessible, and

useful before someone rents, buys, or relocates.

I built it to make UK government data usable for normal people, especially anyone trying to understand an area before moving or buying.
