Just launched my side project: OPENLLMPIX – an open-source AI image generation dashboard.

The backstory

I discovered Google's Nano Banana Pro model. Impressive results. Google AI Studio offers free API access.

But:

- The interface isn't great for image workflows

- Wrapper services (Fal.ai, etc.) charge per image

I didn't want to pay middleman fees for an API I could access directly.

What I built

A clean dashboard where you bring your own API keys. No accounts, no tracking, no server-side storage.

Features:

- Text-to-image + image-to-image

- Chat Studio (iterative editing with up to 4 reference images)

- Multiple providers (Google, OpenRouter, Fal.ai)

- Privacy-first (keys encrypted client-side)

Tech: Next.js 16, React 19, Tailwind CSS 4

The open-source decision

I could have charged for this. But I wanted to:

1. Build something I actually use

2. Give back to the community

3. See if others find it useful

MIT licensed – fork it, sell it, I don't care.
