August 21, 2020 Screenplay: Lobster Tariffs, Gambling

We're talking about European tariffs on lobster (well, eliminating them) and what the US is doing as well.

As for online gambling, just think of Robinhood! But no, the screenplay post was precisely on online betting/gambling of sports, mostly. It's a good bet to bet on those stocks!

August 19, 2020 Email: GDP Indicators, Treasury Market

Today I wrote an advanced email post for this weekend's link-based post on Opine. I found two interesting topics that would allow readers to think more critically about economic indicators and learn more about how the Treasury market (and central banks) work.

I've never been a fan of just "assorted links"-based blog posts, but the content of these links are relevant and interesting, so why not?

Tomorrow I'll work on Sunday's Tinder post, which will be fun.

August 11, 2020 Chat: Robinhood, Amazon, Lira

Today's post covered some information about day trading. Robinhood is suspending third-party access to their data.

Amazon became a topic as well since there has been talk that empty department store places could be used as Amazon distribution centres.

Lastly, I mentioned the Turkish lira. Needless to say, the currency hasn't been doing so hot.

August 10, 2020 Tinder: Back-to-School Stocks, Retailers

I moved some of the posts from today to tomorrow. Mondays aren't as quiet as the weekends, but doing this puts me in a better place for content this whole week.

Today was a swipeable post. There will be a "Tinder" post tomorrow as well, in addition to one with a chat UI.

I discussed Chegg (online learning platform), tech stocks, and comfortable clothing stores.

August 8, 2020 Stock Buybacks and Updates

Today's post was a screenplay post on stock buybacks based on Berkshire's news. It was a simple post due to some changes to what Opine is going to look like going forward.

I ran an update on both iOS and Android. User retention is tough when content is only updated once a day, so I'm planning on changing it to several times a day. Several short scenarios rather than one longer one.

August 6, 2020 Chat: Gold, gold, gold

Today's post on Opine covered gold prices, March's extreme volatility, and some talk on HSBC.

I didn't cover Scotia's retreat from the sector. I thought to mention it but couldn't find a smooth opening to throw it in.

Also, it's the first introduction of famed womanizer Luke Hotguy so that's worthy of mentioning.

August 5, 2020 Tinder: TikTok, Groceries, Disney

Today's post on Opine Brief covered TikTok and the idea of "key money", rising grocery prices in the USA, and the surge of subscribers for Disney+.

I'm slowly getting back into the groove of writing again. It'll probably take some time.

I never released a game on the app stores before, so I'm curious what the statistics would look like a month later.

August 4, 2020 Official Release on App Store, Google Play

Now technically Opine was released two days ago? But I pretty much had to push an update right away because there was a problem with image caching and refreshing.

But now, it's all good and ready to be used!

Based on my previous projects, I've learned that my apps don't do well on Android but do alright on Apple. So I'll have to see how that goes.

I'll be updating this page regularly now as I write content for Opine. It's supposed to be daily, but we'll see if I can make that happen. Fingers crossed!

Today's post was on BP, gold prices, and retail bankruptcy. I spent some time researching French desserts, so that was fun.

June 25, 2020 Subscription, Notification testing complete

Google Play took a couple of days to review my app bundle before I could push it into closed track testing. But it's done and things are looking good. Subscriptions work smoothly and notification topics also work fine.

A final test will be implemented prior to official release. But for now, I'm taking a break. Then in a month, I'll have to start creating content.

June 21, 2020 Onboarding complete

I kept everything very simple. Personally, I didn't feel the need for flashy animations and tons of clipart. But you never know, that could change after everything goes into production.

The main things I need to fix are subscriptions. I have yet to officially test them out on my devices.

I also need to deal with notifications.

I'm planning a week of content prior to submitting the app for review on both platforms to test formatting.
