Origins

Hi everyone, I just launched Origins!

It’s an AI-powered phenotype analysis app. The idea for Origins came from a simple observation: most ancestry apps out there are either overly complex, require expensive DNA kits, or are just poorly designed apps cluttered with ads.

I wanted to build something clean, premium, and instant. Origins turns a simple selfie into a beautifully visualized genetic journey. It uses advanced AI vision to analyze over 128 facial phenotypes, providing an estimated breakdown of your ethnic heritage, regional percentages, and dominant traits. I built it entirely solo using Flutter, Firebase, and Gemini.

I’m launching this first version to see how people interact with the AI analysis and to learn from the builder community here. I’d love to hear your thoughts:

• What do you think about the UI/UX (specifically the dark mode result cards)?

• Does the AI analysis feel accurate based on what you know about your own heritage?

Thanks for checking out Origins 🙏
