Orwellix
The AI agent built for writers.
Hey IH 👋
I'm Parikhit, solo founder of Orwellix, an AI writing agent that edits directly inside your document. I wanted to share the honest story of building this, because most "here's my journey" posts skip the parts that actually matter.
The problem I was trying to solve:
Professional writers today run a broken 3-tool workflow. Grammarly highlights what's wrong but won't fix it. ChatGPT helps but has zero document context, you paste in a section, it rewrites it in isolation, you paste it back. Hemingway tells you a sentence is hard to read but won't touch it. The result: 2–3 hours per article lost to tool-switching, copy-pasting, and re-reading context to an AI that forgot it 30 seconds ago.
The insight I kept coming back to: developers solved this exact problem with Cursor. The AI understands your full codebase, makes precise edits, and you review every change. Nobody had applied that model to writing. So I built it.
What I built:
Orwellix is live at https://orwellix.com. The core is Agent Mode, you prompt it like you'd brief an editor ("fix the passive voice and fact-check the statistics"), it reads your entire document, runs a live web search for current data, and proposes tracked changes you accept or reject one by one. Full document context. Every change visible. You stay in control of every word.
Built entirely solo. Every line of code, every blog post, every design decision.
The honest numbers (12 months in):
Launched to production: October 2025.
Free trial live: March 2026.
First paying customer: April 22, 2026, instant upgrade from free trial to yearly Premium ($418), zero paid marketing.
Current traffic: 40–50 daily organic visitors from search engines, zero paid spend.
40+ free SEO writing tools live and indexed.
75+ blog posts published.
Affiliate program launched: April 2026.
What actually worked:
The single most effective thing I did was build free tools. One tool, a passive to active voice converter started ranking on Bing. A user found it, hit an intent popup, went to the pricing page, and bought a yearly Premium plan on the spot. That's the entire first-customer story. No outreach, no ads, no cold email. Pure SEO.
What I got wrong:
I spent the first 8 months purely building. I told myself "launch when it's ready." That was wrong. I should have launched a much simpler version at month 3 and started learning from real users immediately. The feature set is genuinely strong now, but I wasted months building things nobody had asked for yet.
Also, building solo means every hour on content is an hour off product, and vice versa. I still haven't solved this properly.
Where I am now:
We launched on Product Hunt today. Actively working on SEO, free tool expansion, and getting to 10 paying customers before reapplying to accelerators in September.
If you're a writer or content creator and want to try it, 7-day free trial at https://orwellix.com. Use ORWELLIXPH20 for 20% off your first year.
Would love questions, brutal feedback, or anyone who's been through the "solo founder trying to do everything" phase, how did you prioritize?
