Giants entering

By mid 2019 there was a recognition of the open source monetization problem and many companies entered the space. Some early attempts with blockchain left the space and giants such as Github Sponsors, BuyMeACoffee, etc entered. Not only that, monetization challenge was not limited only to open source developers, but many independent creators, authors, speakers, coaches... With that a need for a central place to browse all of these solutions became more apparent.
