Delisted from Appsumo

We launched on Appsumo for a total of 7 months. Jotting down some of the lessons I've learnt from the experience.

  1. More communication is better than some communication. Some communication is better than no communication. During the initial launch period, I was bombarded with support requests non-stop. Set aside dedicated time during launch!
  2. Not all feedback is equal. Some users gave us great suggestions. However, other users were clearly trying to milk the product for as much as they could in the guise of feature requests. Learn to say no!
  3. Prepare templated responses. Appsumo users are fast and furious with their questions. More often than not, others have the same questions and can be answered with a similar response. Scale support with templates!

That concludes our journey with lifetime deal sites for now. It was a roller coaster experience that's for sure.
