Hi everyone,
I’m building Paper2Gal, an AI tool that turns academic papers into interactive visual novel-style learning experiences.
The idea came from a simple problem: reading research papers is often lonely, dense, and intimidating. Many students and researchers don’t just need a summary — they need a more guided, engaging way to understand the structure, key concepts, formulas, and conclusions.
With Paper2Gal, users can upload PDF, TXT, or DOCX files and explore the paper with an anime-style AI companion. Instead of passively reading a long document, users learn through dialogue, story progression, and interactive checkpoints. The goal is to make research feel less like fighting a final boss alone, and more like a co-op learning adventure.
I’m still improving the product and would love feedback from students, researchers, AI tool builders, and anyone interested in new learning formats.

I like that you're changing the learning experience rather than just generating another AI summary. If users actually retain more because of the interactive format, that's a much stronger differentiator than "AI for papers."
