Hey everyone,

I’m currently building Parag, a free US dating and local classifieds platform. Building a marketplace is always a chicken-and-egg problem, but doing it with a focus on local US regions adds a whole different layer of complexity.

Right now, the site maps out local categories across almost every major US state—from California to New York.

The Plan

My primary focus at this stage is purely organic growth and foundational SEO. Instead of burning money on ads, I'm focusing on:

1. Building out clean, fast, localized landing pages for major US hubs.

2. High-authority directory distribution to establish domain trust.

3. Keeping the platform 100% free for users to post local ads to lower the barrier to entry.

The Challenges So Far

• Spam Prevention: The biggest hurdle for any free classifieds or dating platform is keeping the bots out while keeping the signup friction low for real humans.

• Local Density: Getting enough listings in a specific city (like Miami or Las Vegas) so that the platform actually feels alive to a first-time visitor.

I'm planning to share my traffic numbers and what works (or fails) as I scale up the US traffic.
