December 3, 2020 We launched our web app into beta

We recently launched a listen only version of parrot on the web.
You can see it at app.parrot.fm.
The primary use case of this is people who are receiving a shared clip, episode, or podcasts from their friends. Parrot makes that easy inside our app, but our share experiences have been lacking.
With this web app, you can now search for and listen to any podcast, and see clips that our users have saved from any podcast or episode.
We're still testing and fixing bugs and hope to launch to the wild early next year.

March 9, 2020 Made our first revenue

We've just gotten our first subscription on the App Store. We made a point to launch with a premium subscription, even if it is more of a tip jar model to start. We plan on adding lots of premium features later, but are really happy to have gotten some love from early adopters.

    That must feel great!

Did this person subscribe completely on their own, or had you interacted with them in some way?

This one came from someone in our beta. Pretty sure this falls more into the tip jar model. Still feels like a good start though.

March 3, 2020 We launched in the App Store!!

I'm super happy to announce that we are finally live. You can now save clips from podcasts, get a URL to share them with friends, follow people to see what they are saving, and use clips to discover great new content.
This is our first version, so there's a lot more to come, but we're excited to share this huge milestone with you.
We'd love for you to try the app and let us know your thoughts!

November 12, 2019 First public beta invites sent out!!!

After testing internally we were able to get a stable build that we can share more broadly.
We have aabout 250 people signed up for the beta list on our website. My goal is to keep inviting more and more people from the list and keep verifying new bugs. We know our features are light and we know we have a couple minor bugs so we are hoping to get good feedback about the severity of these issues over the next few weeks and keep moving toward public launch.

November 7, 2019 Got into internal beta

We started a while ago and then paused, so it's been a long time coming. But we finally moved into an internal beta and are now testing our iOS app with real data and real users. We've been finding great bugs and it's starting to feel really stable. It feels like we finally have an app that we can be proud to share with the world. We hope we can share a pic lic beta very soon to get even more feedback.

About

Podcasting is still in it's infancy. I think the upside for growth is still massive and we really don't have the apps and interactions that people want. I think we can do something that no other app has done.
