Passcite

AI visibility for agencies, priced per client site

September 24, 2026 I asked an AI about my product. It answered with my Indie Hackers bio

I asked an AI assistant what it thought of Passcite. The first thing it said came from my Indie Hackers bio: built solo, "helping businesses get recommended by AI". It also said it couldn't find a pricing page.

The pricing page exists and is indexed. When I searched "passcite" on DuckDuckGo, it was the second result. The assistant just didn't use it.

My guess at what happened: asked about a product, an assistant looks for pages about it on other sites. A new product has almost none, so your own profile on someone else's site wins by default. The AI doesn't prefer Indie Hackers. There's just nothing else yet.

Which makes the first line of your bio your product description, as far as the AI is concerned. Mine led with "solo" and said "businesses". I sell to agencies.

What I changed:

- The bio now opens with "AI visibility for agencies, priced per client site." Solo moved to the end.

- I made a product page here with the same line as its tagline.

What I didn't do is post more to own that answer. Indie Hackers already owns it. The questions that would bring customers don't mention Passcite by name, and the sites cited most in those answers were Capterra, Reddit and Trustpilot, not Indie Hackers.

It's one assistant and one question, so it's an anecdote. But it takes a minute to check your own: ask an AI "what is [your product]?" and see whose words come back.

I built a tracker and stopped opening it: a number doesn't say what to change. Passcite shows the buyer questions your client loses on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, to whom, and the fixes: ours to draft, yours to do.
