Passport size photo maker
It all started with my plan to celebrate the New Year in Vietnam. I had my flights booked and my itinerary ready, but I hit an unexpected wall when applying for the e-visa. The application required a digital photo with very specific dimensions, and I quickly realized that my casual selfies—and even my existing passport scans—didn't make the cut.
I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to crop my photo to the exact requirements using basic image editors. I struggled to get the aspect ratio right without distorting the image or losing quality. When I looked for online solutions, I found that most were either clunky, filled with ads, or required payment for what seemed like a simple task.
That frustration was my lightbulb moment. I realized that if I, a developer, was finding this difficult, thousands of other travelers must be facing the exact same headache.
So, I decided to scratch my own itch. I built Passport Size Photo, a completely free tool designed to handle these specific requirements seamlessly. It allows users to easily crop and adjust their photos to meet official standards for Vietnam—and now many other countries—right from their browser. What started as a quick fix for my holiday bureaucracy is now saving other travelers time, money, and stress, letting them focus on their trips instead of their paperwork.
