PatternRank
ML-powered market research & stock rankings
Hey Indie Hackers 👋
I’ve been working on a project called PatternRank — a financial data & analytics SaaS where I run real, production ML models on historical market data and surface quantitative stock rankings.
The motivation was simple: most market tools either oversimplify everything into “tips” or hide behind black-box signals. I wanted to build something research-first — where models actually run continuously, break sometimes, get fixed, and improve over time.
What I’ve learned so far:
Getting ML into production is way harder than training models
Data quality and edge cases matter more than algorithms
Compliance and payments took more time than model tuning 😅
The product is intentionally not a trading platform:
no trade execution
no bots
no personalized advice
It’s built for developers, analysts, and serious market learners who want to explore patterns, rankings, and historical performance as research.
I’m now at the stage where I’m looking for:
feedback on positioning
thoughts from other builders who’ve shipped data-heavy products
lessons from anyone who’s monetized analytics tools successfully
Happy to answer questions about the tech, the models, or the business side.
Would love honest feedback — even if it’s “this is confusing” or “this won’t work.”
I’ve added a free trial, and for Indie Hackers I’m offering 50% off the first month with code IH50 (valid until March 1, 2026).
About
I built PatternRank to turn quantitative market research into a real, usable product. It’s a place to run production ML models on market data and explore patterns transparently, without trading, bots, or advice.
