Payment Hunter
Automated payment reminders for freelancers and small busine
I freelanced for a few years and spent way too much time writing "just following up" emails. The awkward ones. The third awkward ones. Eventually I'd write off small invoices because the back-and-forth wasn't worth the emotional drain.
I kept wondering: is this just me? Turns out it's not. Most freelancers I talked to said chasing payments was one of the worst parts of the job — not because it was technically hard, but because it felt bad.
So I built Payment Hunter. You upload an invoice (PDF or image), the AI pulls out the client name, amount, and due date, and then it handles follow-up emails on whatever schedule you set. You approve the template once, then it just runs. No more "just checking in" from you personally.
Still pretty early — launched about a month ago, in beta, maybe a dozen real users so far. I'm still figuring out what actually matters to them. The product is at paymenthunter.bot if you want to take a look. 30-day free trial, no credit card needed, plans start at $19/mo.
For those of you who've built for freelancers or small businesses: what's been the hardest part of getting early traction? Cold outreach, communities, something else entirely?
About
I got frustrated watching freelancer friends spend hours chasing late payments. Built Payment Hunter to automate the whole follow-up process — AI reads invoices, sends reminders on schedule, tracks who's paid.
