Payspresso
A place for small businesses to meet, invoice and pay
My first test users are happy users, and they were kind enough to let me use them as a case study on my landing page.
The freelancer got paid 10% more than usual thanks to my product, so the value proposition seems to hold up.
They were keen to invite more of their clients and freelancers, and I'm now onboarding the third user.
Lots of things to fix still in the onboarding process, but things are looking good.

We had the first client and supplier onboard to try us out today.
Normally, they would use Paypal, and we saved the freelancer about $50 and the process went smoothly for the client.
Next, we're introducing invoicing on the platform, and will build the first landing page based on the learnings so far.
Most of the benefits will be for the supplier (saving them money), but the client will also save some time. I'll design the first landing page with this in mind.
They also agreed to help me do a detailed price comparison study, for payments from GBP to INR. I plan to use this as content on the landing page.

I created the BankDeets form a while ago to collect bank details in any currency. I need the form for the Payspresso project, and I thought others might find it useful as well.
Initially I promoted it on Hacker News and Reddit without much success. I've also shared in on Twitter and found a few potential users that way. After publishing it to NPM, I got around a 1000 downloads, but it's hard to tell if those are real users or just bots.
I'm hoping that by open sourcing the form, I might get an opportunity to speak to people working on similar problems. Maybe even find some customers.
This is the first inbound interest I have gotten through this, which is fun. I hope there will be more in the future.

Over the past few weeks, I've interviewed businesses and freelancers to better understand how they are managing payments between each other.
Several of the businesses said they would benefit from a tool for automating payments to their suppliers and freelancers, while giving them control over approvals. Many were also excited about an integration to TransferWise and Revolut to automate their payments.
The freelancers (based in India) were also interested in using a tool that would help them avoid getting paid through Paypal, and to generate tax documents for the payments.
Both businesses and freelancers were willing to pay for a tool that solves these problems, and they were willing to be beta testers. I've decided to build an MVP over the next weeks, and to continue talking to businesses that could be interesting in this product.

When working on my previous project, I found that a lot of my customers had problems with managing freelancers and payments. With Payspresso, I want to make it easy to pay and get paid for small businesses.
