The easiest way to make lists of links on Internet
Hi, I’m Gonzalo, the solo developer of pegao.co, an open source project for saving and sharing links into lists.
Pegao.co is a great web tool to save and share all those important links that you read on the Internet, that’s all, simple and easy, but without all this noise from Twitter, Facebook or any social media platform.
It has been 5 months since I introduced Pegao, and now I want to share from my experience how I have used it, so I hope it helps you with some ideas on how you can use it and I would love to hear from you and feedbacks.

1. For work or side projects
Ok, this is my main use, when I’m working on something or learning about something (usually web development for ex. devops or Raspberry Pi), the first thing I do is googling about the subject, I read a lot of guides, blog posts and I discard most of them, but finally I decide to keep the best ones that help with my learning, and then I save them on pegao.co using the quick save feature (you don’t need install anything).
In this way, I only keep curated links and work with them for hours, days or weeks, it depends how many time I have at that moment, sometimes this is an info that I’ll use later, so in this case I just have to go to my saved list and read it again, without wasting time again.
2. For personal use
I love making bread, and sometimes I see great recipes on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Medium or any page, and before Pegao I had to bookmark all this info on each platform but finally I never remembered what I had saved or where.
And Pegao came here for my help! now I keep a list on pegao.co with the links that I browse, so I have everything in one place.
Another easy way to organize my links is using emojis, yes emojis!, I have up to 8 emojis to use when I save a link:
🗣 — Say something.
💜 — Something you liked.
💡 — Capture your ideas.
⭐ — Bookmark your favorite pages.
📍 — Remember a place.
🛒 — Something to buy.
🎁 — Your gift list.
🔖 — Save for later.
Well, here are some other great ideas to use Pegao:
3. For blogging
If you are a blogger, journalist or influencer, you could take advantage of Pegao, simply by sharing your new blog post, important links or sharing some articles you read, I’m sure a lot of people would be interested to know what you are reading or what you are working on right now.
4. Sharing news
Something I love about Pegao is that the UI is minimal, each saved link doesn’t use images, so it’s mainly text-only format and I have been careful making lightweight (and it could be better with a best infrastructure and working to improve it).
In the past, CNN created a lite site during Hurricane Irma in 2017 and helps people with weak cell phone connections to be informed and today there are people asking for ad free and clean sites, so this makes Pegao to be great for sharing news for people loves text, they just have to read the headline and click if it seems interesting.
If you are an news agency or anyone else, you can create your user profile and invite people to susbcribe.
5. Teachers and students
I think teachers could create lists for each subject or class and share them with their students around the world, and the students who follow teachers will be informed when something new is published.
6. Business profile
This could be an easy way to summarize the links to your website and collect other links posted on the Internet, and sometimes update your profile with job postings, blog posts and news.
7. Make your portfolio page
You could make a list /portfolio and update it with the link to each work. For example if you are a developer, you could make a list for:
/skills — Link each technology, for ex. you could describe EC2, S3, ECR, EKS and link to AWS.
/work — Link each company where you worked.
/study — Link your studies, certificates and achievement.
/projects — Link your projects on Github or the website project.
/blog — Links your writings.

Thanks for reading this far! It would be great to know how you plan to use pegao.co — any idea will always be welcome.

About
I needed a simple and fast way to save and share links between my devices and with other people, without having to install or configure any application. My main goal is to learn ReactJS and make this project open source.
