April 10, 2024 How to write in flow

Hi ✋, I’m Jo the creator of PenPod.

I’ve been an avid Notion user for years. I love Notion’s calm writing experience and the handiness of using it on both my phone and on desktop. I’ve always wanted to write in Notion and post on any writing platform.

Hence I created PenPod to make writing enjoyable and sharing effortless.

I’ve always found my writing experience clunky.

If I found a good writing UI, I still have to store all my ideas in another place. If I blog on WordPress, I have to manually republish the content on Twitter. I’ve also experienced the dreaded “blank page” - when I sit down to write but nothing comes to mind. I did not want another platform to write on. I want a place that consolidates all my writing - my ideas, guides, and articles.

This is why I’m starting PenPod.

But really, PenPod’s vision is for writers to spend more time in “flow”.

This is when we lose ourselves in our writing, when we engage our full focus and lose our sense of time. While writing is challenging, I want it to still feel like a gentle glide. Writing should be an intrinsic reward in itself.

This is the best way I know to be a consistent writer.

Never considered using Notion as my main writing tool. But your post and website offer a compelling story.

I'm sure I'm not alone in having that reaction, so that apparent disconnect may be a way to get attention.

Also, I would consider rebranding if possible. Otherwise you'll always be competing against a trailer company for your brand SERP.

Not a lawyer but I would also be concerned about any infringement.

Hey Stephen, thanks for sharing. Indeed valid points, I'll think about them.

Also let me know if you ever want to try PenPod. I'm looking for product feedback at the moment to see what users resonate with.
