From the feedback, we needed another urgent feature; Resume and Cover Letter History.

Now users that generate resumes and cover letters from a job posting can go the account area and view the history of all resumes and cover letters. We added date, time, name of the company and the job title you were applying for. Very helpful!!!

We needed to improve the resume generation and that meant we needed personal data to better personalize the resume and cover letter.

You can now add the following personal data to make your resumes more authentic.

• Experience
• Education
• Accomplishments
• Skills
• Hobbies and Interests

All this data is interjected within cover letters and resumes.

Output is also styled a little better.

We changed our membership solution from Webflow to Memberstak.

Unfortunately, Weblfow doesn't allow to disable memberships once it's enabled. Sigh. Since we don't need it, we didn't want to pay the extra costs that came with Webflow membership tier. So, we needed to RECREATE the whole website again on a lower, cheaper tier. It's all about costs!

We obviously couldn't transfer account passwords, so all previous users needed to reset their passwords. What a mess. More users lost. Upside it's still early .

Turns out selecting Webflow memberships/subscriptions wasn't the best solution. We used cookies to authenticate our resume generator on Azure, it was hit and miss. We had lots of complaints where generator wouldn't authenticate, and users just got an error and couldn't use our app at all. We lost users :(

We need a different membership solution.

Free access for all! We told our friends and families to sign up and give us feedback, got 50 users out of the 300 we sent to 😒! Even created a Google form questionnaire to gather more feedback on UX, and quality of output.

Only one person filled out the "official" questionnaire, but we got feedback in other ways thankfully. People loved the Cover Letters, but resumes were lacking. We needed to tweak our resume algorithm.

Amazing stress-test :) but we did it. It had issues but it was working!

Domain registered (perfectresume.app) - still not sure if I like the ".app" I have to explain to people it's a website.

This was my first time creating a website in Webflow, it was a bit challenging as I never build a website using a codeless solution. Mistakes were made! But website is up, membership (their beta) is up! Success.

I give myself 7 days to have a working website and ChatGPT generator for resumes and cover letters. Needed to decide where to host the website and generator. Additionally, it needs to have membership functionality.

We decided on Webflow for website, hosting, and membership function. Since I'm Microsoft partner with my other startup, so went with Azure for hosting the generator.

I very good friend of mine lost his tech job during the recession. He came over for a few beers, stressed out, and on the search for a new job.

He told me applying takes forever, customizing resumes and cover letters for every job is pain staking work. He also needs to be aware of ATS systems, when applying.

I asked him, "what's an ATS?!" Never heard of it. He tells me it's an Applicant Tracking System that checks if the applicant qualifies for the job before it gets forwarded to the employer. Oh... like an AI system that matches resumes to job posts? Yes. Well, I can build you a resume generator app that will do just that!!! Give me a few days :)
