Last year, I created a little framework I could use every Friday afternoon to retrospectively reflect on my working week. It consisted of 5 areas; productivity, teamwork, learning, enjoyment and stress. I’d score each factor arbitrarily out of 10 and note down comments to substantiate my scores. Over a few weeks, I started to see some trends and guides to ensure I tried to improve them the following week.
My day job consists of managing a number of software engineering teams who generally reflect fortnightly through typical Agile retrospectives. I realised my personal framework could benefit these teams with specific topics to discuss. So I scribbled down some thoughts and ideas and posted them to my blog.
