Petty Cash

After being stuck in app review for over a month, Petty Cash was finally approved by Apple!

The app reviewers kept citing Apple's "Guideline 4.3 - Design - Spam" but wouldn't tell me which app they thought I was copying or why they considered it as spam. After a lot of back and forth I finally got someone helpful and it turns out my app icon was too similar to another app. I changed the icon and fixed a few other things and Petty Cash passed the approval process.

This was a HUGE relief because I thought they weren't accepting any more budget/personal finance apps.

My advice if you're getting stuck in app review is to be super friendly with your messaging and eventually they will give you a helpful message that is actionable rather than just keep citing the same section in their guidelines over and over.
