Create product photos and marketing visuals with AI

August 28, 2026 How should we position an AI product photography tool?

Hi Indie Hackers — I’m Lisa, and I’m helping build Photoshoot.app.

We started with a practical problem: small ecommerce teams need a steady stream of polished product visuals, but traditional photo shoots can be slow and expensive. Many general AI image tools also require a lot of prompt experimentation before the results are usable.

Photoshoot.app helps turn product images and visual ideas into product photos, outfit visuals, and marketing creative. We’re trying to build a practical workflow for commercial content rather than another general-purpose image generator.

The positioning question we’re working through is:

Should we lead with “AI product photography” or the broader “AI visual creation for ecommerce”?

The first is clearer, but the second better reflects what the product can do.

If you work in ecommerce, marketing, or visual content, what would matter most before you tried a tool like this?

- Speed

- Visual consistency

- Creative control

- On-model and outfit results

- Easier workflows without complex prompting

Here’s the product:

I’d really appreciate honest feedback, especially on anything that feels unclear or too broad.

The positioning question is the interesting part.

Curious whether people understand the broader value naturally, or whether “AI product photography” is what gets them to pay attention first.
