Photostudio
AI product photography software for fashion e-commerce
TL;DR: Built a structured AI pipeline that turns a single garment photo into a full visual set—ghost mannequin, flatlay, on-model, lifestyle, and video. No studio, no models, no manual retouching. Currently running production workloads for fashion e-commerce teams.
The Problem
Fashion e-commerce teams burn time and budget on product photography:
€50–200 per SKU for traditional shoots
Weeks of lead time for catalog updates
Studio booking, models, logistics, post-production
Reshoots when colors, fits, or details change
This slows everything down.
Small brands can’t afford consistent visuals.
Larger brands can’t iterate fast enough.
The Solution
Photostudio.io replaces the traditional photoshoot with a software-based visual pipeline.
Input: One product image (flatlay, mannequin, or basic studio shot)
Output: A complete set of marketplace-ready visuals generated from that single image
Supported outputs:
Ghost mannequin
Flatlay
On-model images
Lifestyle scenes
Short product videos
All generated without physical studios, models, or manual retouching.
Technical Approach
The system is built around structured analysis rather than free prompting:
Multi-stage image analysis extracts garment facts (fabric behavior, silhouette, construction, labels, interiors, colors)
A compact Core Contract JSON enforces rendering constraints and prevents hallucinations
Files API–based workflows minimize token usage and improve consistency
Gemini Flash-Lite handles fast analysis; Gemini Image renders final visuals
Ghost mannequin rendering enforces interior visibility and label legibility by default
This approach treats garments as data objects, not creative prompts.
Current State
Live: Processing real production images for fashion brands
Pipeline: Ghost mannequin (default), flatlay, on-model, lifestyle, video
Turnaround: Minutes per image set, not days or weeks
Output: High-resolution, clean backgrounds, platform-ready
Cost: Roughly €2–5 per image set versus traditional shoot pricing
The same input image can now produce multiple visual formats without additional work.
What’s Next
Current roadmap includes:
Shopify-native integration for catalog workflows
Expanded on-model consistency using structured model specifications
More lifestyle presets tailored to e-commerce use cases
Public self-serve API for high-volume processing
Photostudio is also collaborating with academic and research partners to further improve visual reliability in fashion-specific use cases.
The Insight
Generic AI prompting breaks down in fashion.
Garments have strict requirements: label placement, interior visibility, fabric drape, fit cues, and color accuracy.
The key insight was to replace creative prompting with enforceable structure.
By formalizing garment attributes and hard-locking constraints, error rates dropped significantly and outputs became repeatable at scale.

About
Product photography is one of the biggest cost and time bottlenecks for fashion e-commerce teams. Traditional photoshoots require studios, models, logistics, and long production cycles, making catalogs hard to update.
