PHP Town Hall
Fun podcast for PHP developers
The podcast had been struggling for awhile as me and Amanda both were pretty busy with work. I still love doing it though so we decided to throw another co-host into the mix.
This gave us the ability to record when 2/3 people were available instead of requiring 100% to record. This also changed the dynamic again and made it even more interesting to me.
With this change each episode was quite different based on which hosts were recording and which guests they brought on.
Phil decided to leave the podcast since he wasn't really using PHP anymore.
Amanda Folson agreed to take over the reigns and join as a co-host. It was cool to see how this changed the podcast dynamic.
Phil was always the talkative one and I mostly kept us focused. Amanda could definitely get going but wasn't a chatter box so our personalities together made the podcast a bit more of an interview style.

Worked out a trade with Jonathan Mann for a theme song. He's the Song-a-Day guy, ATP.fm theme song creator, etc. I really love his style.
I built a Youtube Collaboration finder app for him in exchange for the song. It took me about a weekend to make v1 of the app.
The theme song has been a hit with our listeners, so definitely time well spent.

Launched the podcast with my friend and fellow software developer Phil Sturgeon.
We decided to use a format of me and Phil interviewing one or more guests each week. We wanted to keep it very laid back and fun. What's the point of doing this if we aren't enjoying ourselves.
We had a pretty great launch, had Taylor Otwell as the first guest before Laravel was all that popular.

I wanted a way to keep in touch with friends and keep the PHP community up to date on the cool things that are happening.
