On June 2019 I reached $150 on sales.
On July Pickerist made $250.
On this month I launched Pickerist Member, that is a subscription to Pickerist where you pay $5.99 per month and you can make as many giveaways as you want, instead of paying for each one, with a few other benefits.
With this I was looking to make Pickerist more like a SaaS and see if it will work.
And for August 2019 sales were $350 between subscribers and single transactions.
So price started at $0.99 and a few weeks after the lunch on Product Hunt I was seeing around 1 paying customer per day.
Few weeks more and I'm seeing 2 and sometimes 3 paying customers per day.
So that's when I decided to raise the price, first I went from $0.99 to $1.49.
After that the sales keep growing, slowly but growing.
1 month later I raised the prices again to $1.99.
I was scare of raising the price too much and that no one will pay anymore.
But sales keep growing...
Waited another month and raised the price to $2.49, and each month I kept raising the prices a little bit up to $4.49.
Basically I kept raising as long as the sales kept growing or at least kept the same.

From the next day after the launch on Product Hunt I started seeing a few customers.
On that time Pickerist only had 2 options to make a giveaway.
If you Instagram post has less than 100 comments, then you don't pay anything.
If you have more than 100 comments, then you pay $0.99.

After a few months since I finished Pickerist and a few more months for Facebook to approve my app to use with Instagram.
I launched Pickerist on Product Hunt.
PH was the only place were I announced Pickerist, and that's where all the traffic came at first.

I have a small clothing brand and sometimes I make a simple raffle on Instagram.
I guess everyone see those "leave a comment and tag 3 friends" to participate.
It's a good way for small business to get exposure.
I did one of those thinking that there will be dozens of simple app to pick a random comment from my Instagram post.
But no, there weren't.
All the solutions were complicated or too expensive.
And I wanted to be mobile friendly so I can record my phone screen and then create an Instagram Story to show that the raffle was legit.

I needed a simple tool to make a giveaway on one of my Instagram accounts. I searched the internet and I didn't find any tools that would help me, so I decided to create my own. That's how Pickerist was born.
