Over 700 registered users. Growth is happening.

How did we get here?

Mainly by sending a lot of direct messages to current or to-be software developers in LinkedIn.

Through our actions we can generate real job leads and help candidates land job opportunities, eventually making the word spread.

We're playing the infinite game with patience.

Partnering with recruitment agencies is now on going.

We've already landed our first trustworthy recruitment agency to collaborate with.

Creating more opportunities for our job seekers is our priority. We're glad that we've find a partner that also values the needs of the applicant.

A second chance. Again we got ourselves into finals, went to pitch and got 4th place out of 5 finalists.

Retrospective: Our pricing was all over the place, our numbers were a bit messy and the solution we're creating wasn't resonating with the judges.

But at least our pitching was unofficially the best pitch based on the comments of our competitors.

A good experience, good connections made.

Partnerships negotiated successfully.

Simple deal:

We help students to find job opportunities passively with our software, offer career coaching and consulting.

Student organizations market our platform and let students now that we exist. Eventually helping us gain more user traction.

With a little bit of time and effort we had deals done.

Timeout.

We had focused a lot of our energy developing cool features, doing things that we and our assumptions indicated to be useful.

Just add this things and then we're going to start to market. But, but maybe we still need this. And this and that. We're developers and we like things that are super duper awesome, feature rich and capable of changing lives with wow-effects.

Sometimes we need another pair of eyes to take a look at our work, to understand what are we doing.

If our mission is to help developers find jobs passively, does developing cool features help to accomplish that?

Yeah, it does not. Unfortunately.

What we actually need is users and companies.

So time to break the bubble and send some emails, contact requests and book some meetings.

Attract talent and companies with social media? With LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram?

As a consumer user, it's easy to consume content.

As a content creator, entering the social media with something worth seeing for comes naturally for others, but not for all.

Do developers even use these channels? Apparently some do.

So we got a partner help us to understand how this all works, and now the social media strategy is in motion.

Another startup accelerator with no equity stake? Yes, please!

Gain some speed? Listen to people who have actually accomplished stuff?

I was convinced and applied to Red Brick Accelerator. Pikadev got in.

Luckily this particular red brick wall was the one and famous Platform 9 ¾ at Kings Cross Station ;)

Red Brick is an accelerator to help startups gain more clarity and tools to make things happen.

We got exactly what was promised. More clarity, connections and new ways to inquire business opportunities.

Cold emails. A lot of cold emails.

Endless company details, happiness officers, heads of people, HR directors, CEOs, CTOs, who ever was responsible for developer recruitment.
