June 6, 2023 Pikaso has been acquired πŸŽ‰

I'm excited to announce that Pikaso has been acquired! 🀩

I launched it 3 years ago, and it grew to tens of thousands of users and was used by big brands like BBC and Businessweek.

@pikaso_me was also the first screenshot bot on Twitter with 175k followers!

Pikaso was my first indie project to take off! πŸš€

I still remember the incredible feeling of launching it on Product Hunt and watching all those new users sign up.

I did most of the coding for the first version at the airport while I was doing a visa run in Singapore 😁

I had many ideas for growing it but the recent Twitter API changes made that very difficult.

I'm happy that it's in good hands now and will be integrated with a very cool and popular product.

From now on, I'll be focusing entirely on volt.fm. Huge update coming very soon. Stay tuned!

That's really cool. Would you mind disclosing your MRR and the sale price?

    1. 1

Thanks, Alex! Unfortunately, I cannot disclouse the sale price.

        No problem. Farewell!

September 10, 2020 Launched Pikaso's Affiliate Program

Today I launched Pikaso's Affiliate Program. Affiliates will earn a 25% recurring commission on every sale.

Affiliate Dashboard

I decided to implement my own system and do not use any third-party services. I'll write about my reasons, how I implemented it, and everything that I'll learn about affiliate marketing along the way, on my Twitter account: https://twitter.com/soheilpro

Now it's time to start recruiting affiliates.

August 20, 2020 Finally released a highly requested feature

Today I finally released a highly requested (and long-overdue) feature for Pikaso: New layouts and designs

For those who aren't familiar, Pikaso is a service that lets you take beautiful and clean screenshots of tweets for re-publishing them on Instagram, websites, and newsletters.

Up until now Pikaso only supported one layout that looked like the official Twitter website and apps. But with the new update, users can now choose from 16 new layouts to style their screenshots. You can see some samples here.

Next in the list are adding support for custom fonts and colors.

I hope this feature will make many users convert to a paid plan 😁

Cool product! I'd think that media companies would really like this. Do they make up a large % of your customers?

    1. 1

      Thank :) Yeah, mostly.

  3. 1

Didn't know about your extension. Looks awesome. Nice work!

June 26, 2020 100+ Chrome extension users

Today I checked the Chrome Web Store and realized that the Pikaso's browser extension has been downloaded and installed by 106 users.

For Firefox the number is 31. I published the Firefox extension one month after the Chrome version.

The next goal is to reach 1000 installs and also to get it to rank higher in the search results for the "screenshot" keyword.

    That's so good. Congrats
Do you have any paying users?
On your website you list a couple of big names. Are those API users?

    1. 1

Thanks. Yes, I have paying customers. Of the names listed on the homepage, one uses the API, some use the Pro plan, and some use the free plan.

  3. 1

    Awesome!
I'm wondering, do you notice a good amount of traffic to the extension page? What would you do to improve it?
I have several apps in the chrome store and it seems like traffic to the extensions is rather random at some points.

    1. 1

You mean the extension page on the Chrome Web Store or on my website?

      1. 1

On the chrome web store :)

  4. 1

Congratulations. It must have been a pleasant surprise.
I guess the organic downloads show that it has genuine value for users.

Did any of them convert to paid users?

    1. 1

Thanks. I really don't know how many of them were organic. I ask my users to install the extension on the website as well.

  5. 1

Pikaso is awesome extension. It should be used by masses.

April 20, 2020 Received an acquisition offer

Today I received an acquisition offer for Pikaso.

I'm not really interested in selling it at this point as I'm having a great time building, marketing, and growing it. But, the fact that they have found Pikaso worthy of being acquired, shows that there's a huge potential in this.

February 18, 2020 Launched on Product Hunt

Launched Pikaso on Product Hunt (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/pikaso). It got more than 400 upvotes and become the "#4 Product of the Day". It was also featured in the daily newsletter twice.

It was my first submission and I didn't have a large network of people to ask them for upvotes. But considering the amount of positive feedback that I received, I guess this is a product that many people want and are going to use.
