🎉 Launched on ProductHunt AND made first money!

UPDATE:
A few hours into launch Pine made it's first $4.99!
This is by far the best 5 bucks I ever made 🎉🎉🎉

I'm incredibly excited to announce the version 1 release of Pine!

After months of gathering feedback from beta users, tweaking and updating, I feel like Pine is ready to be released!

It's still far from perfect, but I've been delaying the launch for long enough now!

I'd like to thank all of you for creating such a great community and inspiring to keep pushing forward.

If you'd like to check out Pine, the ProductHunt link is here: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/pine-8

I would be more than grateful for your support and feedback! ❤️

Upvoted! Major accomplishment dude! I am about 1-2 weeks from launching my product https://storycreatorapp.com/.

Looking forward to the blog post so I can prepare for my launch.

    1. 1

      Thanks!!
That's awesome! I've been looking forward to your launch! 🚀

  2. 3

Congrats! Upvoted on PH of course :)

Love the personal touch at the bottom of pine.io.

    1. 2

If we can just drum up a little bit more IH's you could reach #1 :)

    2. 1

Thanks! :))) #1 was close, I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but it's kind of suspicious how the number 1 app only has negative comments and no communication from the makers 🤷‍♂️

  3. 3

Good on you Henrikas! Enjoy the moment : )

    Hey, congratulations!

Your home page and product look very polished, you can see you've put the effort in. Just a minor thing, but under "Do much more with Pine" those hover states on the left make it look like they should be clickable.

You piqued my interest as I'm building a similar product that I've also been working on for the last year or so - https://getyourganize.com/ - it's really interesting to see your approach to features and branding as a similar product.

Upvoted you on PH and will follow your story, perhaps we can exchange tips/pitfalls in our development journey as we start to get feedback from users.

All the best with your launch! 👍

      Thanks Jamie!

That's so interesting, I'll follow your progress too, it's so interesting to see how other people deal with solving similar problems!

I'll try out Yourganize this week and send you some feedback - super curious how you approach it!

      Good luck!!

Hey, I had a little test, and made some notes.

I created a to-do in the inbox, but didn't know where it had gone once I created it

I wasn't sure what "Log" was for or why I would need it

I wasn't sure at first what the boards were - perhaps the #Welcome could be more explicit, like #StartHere👉

I added a bookmark (Twitter) - the output for the Twitter description has some HTML chars that need escaping, it outputs like this - Twitter. It's what's happening.

I'm not sure when things would appear in my Inbox, or what that's for - maybe a short explainer on that page when it's empty

Hope this is useful for you, and good luck 👍

        1. 2

Thanks Jamie! It helps a lot!
I finally found the time to try out Yourganize too, sent you an email about it, it's pretty damn great! :)

      2. 2

Great, thanks! I'll try out Pine too and let you know my thoughts.

        Cheers!

Good job Henrikas, we are also currently on Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/generato 🙃

Thanks! Good luck, my upvote goes out to you! :))

    Hi Henrikas,

Yesterday I discussed some showcase material with my co-founder and would love to have your app on our platform.

We are planning to launch a platform where developers showcase their work.

We are in still in development phase but planning to get the word out by next week.

Would love to hear back from you so I can give you more insight into our web app!

    Thanks,

    Mido

Hey! Sorry for the late reply!
I'd love to be on your platform, send me an email to [email protected] :)

  7. 2

    Congrats Kamikaze..:D, upvoted on PH.

  8. 2

Nice! I came across it before seeing your post here on IH, I haven't tested it yet but I really dig the design.

  9. 2

Congrats Henrikas on your launch and also on your first earnings! 🙌

  10. 2

Great job on the launch @henrykuzmick and amazing to know you made your first $5 from your product. Wish you all the very best for your future mate.

    1. 1

Thanks!! It actually went up to $150 during the course of the day, which is especially amazing!!

  11. 2

Nice man! I left a comment and upvoted you over on PH. I've signed up for the app and intend on using it! I'll be purchasing / subscribing soon as well.

Where did you find your beta testers?

    1. 1

Thanks!! That's so cool to hear!!
I've submitted to Betalist and Betapage a few months ago, as well as friends, colleagues, etc :)

  12. 2

Congratulations on the launch. I really like the drag-drop feature and minimalistic design.

    1. 1

Thanks!! There will be more drag-and-dropping soon :))

  13. 2

Congratulations on the launch! Looks great :) We also launched on PH today - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/vidyard-2 Shared an upvote your way! Looking forward to hearing your follow up after the launch and next steps.

    1. 1

Thanks!! I saw Vidyard too, loved it, already upvoted :))

  14. 2

Congrats, Pine looks really slick. And getting those first $5 is amazing! 💯 I might try it (though I am experiencing "tool fatigue". It seems there are so many great tools out there, and they all require time investment 😅)

    1. 2

Thanks!! I can totally relate with the tool fatigue, in fact, that's the main reason for building Pine - get rid of 5 different apps and just have one minimal app that can take care of a number of things :)

  15. 2

    Looks really good!

Excited to watch the journey. I'm a little afraid the price point is hard to scale marketing around - but let's see!

    1. 1

      Thanks!!
I'm very new to growth and marketing, at the moment I'm just copying pricing from similar products and added a sale for the launch. But quite a few people have already commented that it should be more expensive (which is great to hear :)))

      1. 1

Yeah. It's really hard to price a convenience consumer product. Consider looking at https://reflectly.app/ - they are doing really well. I know the founders.

        1. 1

Wow, their app is beautiful! I'll check it out, thanks!!! 🙏

  16. 2

Awesome! Congrats! :) Really love your website! I saw you made it with gatsby. Did you use a theme? :)

    1. 1

Thanks Ray! No theme, just started from scratch and the default gatsby config :)

  17. 2

    Nice work! Upvoting. :-)

  18. 2

    Loooove your site design 🤩

  19. 2

Keep it up! Looks beautiful, really enjoy the landing page design.

  20. 2

    Congratulations on launching!

  21. 2

Awesome congratulations!! Beautifully designed app :)

  22. 2

Well done Henrikas. There is nothing like the first sale in business.

    1. 1

Thanks! It's definitely amazing to finally feel some monetary product need confirmation!

  23. 2

    Congratulations, Henrikas for the launch!!

I am wondering what would be the conversion for a top rated product on product hunt. At the moment, pine has 59 upvotes and shown as 2nd product.

    Cheers!!

    1. 1

Thanks! I'll definitely write a blog post about it, hopefully, this weekend!
      Will include all numbers, etc

  24. 2

Upvoted! It seems a great tool @henrykuzmick lot of success on the launch!

    1. 1

Thanks Sunner! I'm glad very glad you like it!

  25. 2

Such a big moment releasing to PH, all the best Henrikas!
I'm trying your app and of course, I upvoted on PH. Pine intrigued me a lot as I'm in a forever-search of the best app to manage my to-do lists ... or maybe I'm just escaping from them.

Well, I like the concept, it seems a Notion-like editor but more oriented to to-do and tasks rather to generic content, I like the bookmarks (most of my to-dos are URLs), I like that you can change the layout and focus more, the most innovative things, to me, are the Habits, they have great potential like tracking physical workout, quitting coffee and even tracking more exotic progress (maybe via an API). Though overall I feel a bit lost and confused when I started to use Pine, due to the complex "architecture". The first Note guides the user and it's good, but still, I can't understand all the entities Notes, Todo, Bookmarks, Tags (they seem pages/workspaces to me), Boards, Sections and why there's so many? Moreover, I would try to highlight a key selling point and added value that distinguish Pine from Notion or other competitors.

Hey, good luck with Pine, I hope my feedback has been constructive!

    1. 1

      Hey!

Thank you so much for the feedback, it's incredibly useful!

It's always great to have some fresh eyes on your work - Yes I believe the product grew a lot and is becoming less obvious. It seems more and more clear that I'll need to add some onboarding and/or simplify many things.

As far as notion goes - "It's kind of similar to notion" is the way I describe it to friends lol. In fact, I discovered notion when I was about 3-4 months into building Pine. Notion then grew exponentially, which is awesome on one hand as it shows people want products like this, and scary on the other as Pine is so similar to something that's already so big.

At the moment it's a similar product with a different feel and focus. If you're using one - you won't need another.

Pine at the moment is very bare-bones and will focus much more and habits and todos to have a different focus from notion.

      Thanks again for the feedback!!

  26. 1

Wow, I'm just running across this post as I browse IH.

Pine. Is. Beautiful. Keep up the amazing work.

Hey, Thank you so much!! that's awesome to hear :))
