PineGen AI
AI-powered Pine Script generator for TradingView traders
I'll be upfront: I built PineGen AI, one of the tools on this list. So you might wonder why you should trust my take.
Because I've spent more time than anyone studying how these tools fail - and the failures are what matter when you're building real indicators for real trading. I'm including myself in that scrutiny.
Here's an honest breakdown of every meaningful option in 2026.
Why this matters now
Pine Script v6 is TradingView's current scripting version, released December 2024 and rolled out across the platform through 2025. It introduced stricter type casting, new parameter handling, and several breaking changes that invalidated older scripts.
That version jump broke a lot of things. And it made the "just ask ChatGPT" approach even more unreliable than before - because most general AI models still generate v5 syntax and call it done.
General AI models like ChatGPT and Claude can write Pine Script, but it's not their primary purpose. They're trained on everything - Python, JavaScript, essays, recipes - and Pine Script is a tiny fraction of that training data. The result: they often mix up version syntax, hallucinate functions that don't exist, or produce code that looks correct but contains subtle logical errors like repainting indicators.
So the real question isn't "which AI is smarter?" It's "which one actually produces code that compiles and behaves correctly on TradingView?"
The tools worth knowing about
1. ChatGPT (GPT-5)
The default choice for most traders who want to try AI-generated Pine Script. Fast, free tier available, and fine for simple scripts.
The problem: you ask for an indicator, you get code, you paste it into TradingView, and you get errors. For anything involving multi-timeframe logic, SMC concepts, or Pine v6-specific functions, ChatGPT regularly mixes up deprecated syntax or invents function names that don't exist. Great for learning concepts. Unreliable for production code.
Best for: Brainstorming, learning Pine Script basics, simple single-indicator scripts.
2. Claude (Anthropic)
Claude Sonnet 4.5 and 4.6 take the crown for Pine Script accuracy in 2026 - thanks to fewer hallucinations and better handling of TradingView nuances compared to GPT-5.
Claude handles complex logic better than ChatGPT in my own testing. If you're going to use a general-purpose AI for Pine Script, Claude is the stronger bet. Still, it's a generalist - it doesn't know Pine v6 edge cases the way a specialized tool does.
Best for: Debugging existing code, explaining Pine concepts, complex multi-condition logic.
3. LuxAlgo Quant
Built by LuxAlgo - one of the most respected indicator publishers on TradingView. Their tool has a killer differentiator: it can take a screenshot of a chart setup and write the Pine Script code for it. If you work visually and want to replicate what you see on a chart without describing it in words, nothing else comes close.
The downside is cost - LuxAlgo is a premium product with premium pricing.
Best for: Visual traders, reverse-engineering chart setups into code.
4. Pineify
One of the most complete specialized platforms available. Every line of generated code is validated against Pine Script v6 rules, and if the validator catches an error, the AI fixes it instantly before showing you the result. That auto-fix loop is genuinely useful - it eliminates the back-and-forth of pasting errors into a chat window. Pineify
Pineify also supports MQL5 (MetaTrader) in addition to Pine Script, which is useful if you run on multiple platforms.
Best for: Traders who want validated, compilation-guaranteed output without manual debugging.
5. PineGen AI
I built PineGen AI specifically for traders who want to go from a plain-English description to a working, backtest-ready Pine Script v6 indicator in the least number of steps possible.
PineGen AI delivers the fastest idea-to-backtest pipeline. The focus is speed and specificity - SMC concepts, multi-timeframe confluence, XAUUSD strategies, Boom/Crash synthetic indices. These are the use cases where general AI tools fail hardest, so that's where I focused.
I won't pretend it's perfect for every use case. For visual chart-to-code translation, LuxAlgo Quant still beats it. But for traders who know what they want and need it built fast in proper v6 syntax - this is what I built it for.
Best for: Traders who know their strategy and want clean v6 code fast, especially for SMC, forex, and synthetic indices.
TradingView has over 50 million users. Most of them have a trading idea they can't act on - because they can't code it.
That gap is exactly why I built PineGen AI. But before getting into that, let me explain what changed with Pine Script v6, and why it matters even if you've never written a single line of code in your life.
First, what is Pine Script?
Pine Script is TradingView's built-in programming language. It lets you create custom indicators, alerts, and automated strategies directly on your charts - things the platform's default tools can't do.
Want a moving average that only fires signals after a liquidity sweep? Want an alert that triggers only when the daily trend, 4H structure, and 1M entry all align? You need Pine Script.
TradingView has published more than 150,000 community scripts written in Pine Script, and most of TradingView's own built-in indicators are written in it. It's not a niche tool - it's the backbone of serious custom analysis on the platform.
So what changed in v6?
Pine Script v6 launched in November 2024 and introduced sweeping changes to the type system, dynamic data requests, new drawing types, and strategy improvements. Since launch, TradingView has shipped a new update nearly every month, adding features like footprint data, bid/ask variables, and active inputs. TradersPost
Here's what that means in plain English:
1. Stricter types = fewer silent bugs
The biggest changes from v5 are a stricter type system, faster execution, and improved built-ins for arrays, matrices, and time series. In the old version, code would sometimes "work" but produce wrong results. v6 catches those errors before your script runs. Quantum Algo
2. Better multi-timeframe data
Pine Script v6 provides better control over real-time data through improvements to the request.security() function, allowing for more accurate multi-timeframe analysis. For traders running confluence systems across Daily/4H/15M — this alone is a major upgrade. Feelthecandlesticks
3. New varip keyword for live trading
Pine Script v6 adds the varip keyword, specifically designed for handling values that change only during the real-time bar, offering greater control for live strategy execution. Feelthecandlesticks
4. Clearer error messages
Pine Script v6 offers more readable and helpful error messages, enabling quicker debugging and reducing the time it takes to resolve issues. If you've ever stared at a cryptic Pine Script error at 2am, you'll appreciate this one.
Why does this matter if you don't code?
Because v6 is now the standard. Any new indicator or strategy you want built — whether by a freelancer, a free script from the community, or an AI tool — should be in v6.
All future Pine Script updates apply exclusively to v6, making migration from v5 essential for accessing new functionality. Scripts still on v5 won't benefit from new features TradingView ships going forward. TradersPost
If you're paying someone $50/hr to write you an indicator in v5 right now, you're already behind.
The real problem
Most traders I've talked to know exactly what they want - a specific entry condition, a certain alert logic, a custom signal that matches their strategy. But between learning Pine Script, debugging errors, and keeping up with v6 syntax changes, the barrier is too high.
That's what I'm solving with PineGen AI - you describe the indicator you want in plain English, and it generates clean Pine Script v6 code you can paste directly into TradingView.
No coding. No freelancer. No waiting.
