Pippin
A safe place for overthinking
Hey Indie Hackers 👋
I recently launched Pippin, a minimalist journaling app for people who overthink and replay thoughts on loop.
App Store Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pippin-overthinking-journal/id6755423327

I built it for myself.
Journaling always felt like another project to manage, prompts, streaks, pressure to “reflect correctly.”
I wanted something simpler.
Pippin is intentionally minimal:
Dump a thought
Lock it away
Mentally move on
No streaks.
No prompts.
No advice.
Just a private place to unload your head.
What makes Pippin different
Brain dump / vent journaling (type or speak)
Lock your entry for 24h so you stop rereading it
Thoughts “bloom” into a garden later — a visual way to see progress
Gentle insights, not advice
Face ID + privacy screen (no screenshots, no peeking)
🎄 Holiday experiment (feedback-focused)
I’m giving 1 month of Pippin Pro ($4.99) free to anyone who wants to try it and share honest feedback.
What Pro unlocks:
Faster blooms (1h & 6h)
Letters from Pippin (gentle reflections)
Face ID lock & privacy screen
Unlimited thought history
👉 Redeem here (official App Store offer code):
https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6755423327&code=PIPPIN2025HOLIDAYMONTHLY
It unlocks Pro for 1 month, then renews normally unless you cancel.
You can cancel anytime before renewal.
Why I’m sharing this here
I’m still very early and care more about real feedback than numbers right now.
I’m genuinely curious:
Does the “dump it and lock it away” idea resonate?
Does the garden metaphor help, or feel gimmicky?
What would stop you from using this long-term?
Happy to answer questions or take blunt feedback.
Thanks for supporting indie builders 🙏
About
I built Pippin because I overthink small interactions and replay them endlessly in my head. I tried journaling to cope, but most journaling apps felt like another thing to manage: prompts, streaks, pressure to reflect.
