Free Podcast Hosting
After not being able to follow up on developing this business, I finally sold it. The mental burden that an unfinished project has on you is extreme, and I felt this terrible feeling while the platform was under my control and was not improving or generating any revenue.
I feel satisfied and tranquil, as the next owner will take better care of it. Sold on Flippa for 200$.
Today, I had my first customer migrating to my service from SoundCloud. I am still waiting to see if this customer will stay on my service, but it is a good sign.
The migration proved to be a fairly simple technical challenge that I hadn't coded fully, as I didn't have the necessary validation. After this, I'll up the priority a bit

Today, Apple finally approved my customer's podcast. I had to manually submit it, as I had not coded a single line of this feature.
The customer actually emailed me complaining that he didn't see his podcast on Apple yet. So, when I tried to understand what happened, he used a migration feature - totally different from what he expected - as a distribution feature. I, of course, rushed to get his distribution ready.
Takeaways: my copy is not good for feature description and I should code the distribution feature.

My customer told me exactly what does he want. I asked him what would be ideal to have in a good product and gave him a few ideas. I really hope to have amazing feedback from him and I'll definitely get the product ready for him.
I think having this kind of feedback is really important to guide the feature creation.

I created a newsletter as a feedback from one potential customer! Also, I had a nice email at my inbox from a customer with tons of questions, suggestions, and ideas. I was glad that he could share his ideas with us!
Many of these ideas will become features!

My first "hot lead" turned out to be a competitor spying on my service. I am really frustrated with this. Really hope to have a client soon.
My business model is counter positioning theirs, hence they can't offer what I offer. It made me conclude that podcast competitors are paranoid - there is no need for this kind of spying. Creepy.

Today we received an email from a potential customer asking us if we could personalize the product a little bit for him. I said yes and I'm now waiting for his answer on email. Do things that don't scale, right?
I now have to convert this hot lead into a customer and start growing from there.

We finished coding our MVP!
We chose a very similar stack to what we use at work, due to familiarity. The MVP is simple enough to be coded, but has essential features, such as hosting the episodes, login and signup.
We now have to find our first user.

We just pivoted our Unique Value Proposition, to be a free Podcast Hosting solution, and then eventually offer a Rev-share deal to content creators.
We created a landing page with Mailchimp this time and tried to get our first signup. We believe that this proposition is better than the paid ones, as the alignment of interests is much better than when you have to pay for it - paying is an incentive not to grow.

We used LaunchRock to create our first landing page. Our idea is to help monetize podcasts with advertising.
We thought this might be an issue for podcasts, as they oftentimes have a great audience but won't do much with it. Also, podcasts need equipment - that costs money - and seldom buy it.
So, it would be great if we could find a way to help them monetize.

We believe that content creators needn't pay for their hobbies and if they are professionals, they should have incentives to grow their audience, not keep it at the same level.
