Visit Website
October 23, 2022 Launched AI Writing, viral tweet explorer and a new homepage. +20 users in 2 days.

I worked for two weeks on the new homepage and on writing tweets with AI, sentiment analyzer and viral tweet explorer.

I'm happy to have been able to deliver everything on the schedule I had set.

As marketing actions I posted on reddit and launched a 2 euro per day sponsored on Twitter (total 4 euros)

In 2 days I received +20 signup and many new feedbacks.

September 27, 2022 Finally i release the first usable mobile version + insight after 20 days from launch and 1k visits

👉🏻 https://planny.co

It took me more than i prevented:

  • adapt the calendar view
  • make editor simple as desktop but on a much smaller screen size
  • make the analytics clean to read

The truth: was a very hard work, but finally i have released it.

Finally Planny can be used from mobile, and i think it's very intuitive and simple, I worked hard to try and keep it clean and minimal as possible.

Other features I worked on:

  • now calendar blocks are draggable to update the schedule time;
  • it is possible to upload video until 512mb;

How is planny doing?
I have received a lot of feedback and have changed a lot of things accordingly and this is the raw stats from 6 september:

  • 1k visitors
  • 3.3k page views
  • 2m 26s visit duration
  • 16 signups
  • 160 scheduled tweets
  • 3 active subscriptions

Note: CR is bad, but until yesterday i don't have a mobile version (50% of visits were from mobile) and people see only the splash screen.

What do you think?

    This is awesome news!! I am happy about this feature too: now calendar blocks are draggable to update the schedule time. Keep up the good work G

September 17, 2022 A Reddit post drove me 205 unique visits

Yesterday I wrote a post on a subreddit called "EntrepreneurRideAlong", at around 12am yesterday, asking for feedback for my landing page (https://planny.co). Usually, I have also written others reddit post but received 2-3 responses and a few hundred views every time.

This time something has changed.

The post leapt to the top position of the subreddit, I finally got constructive feedback and made these numbers:

  • 20+ comments
  • 11k views

This is the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/EntrepreneurRideAlong/comments/xfsrxu/roast_my_landing_page_the_perfect_tool_to_get/

How was it different from the other posts I wrote on reddit?

I usually wrote a lot, introduced who I was, what the application did and how it did it, what the objectives were, etc. This time I wanted to try a simple approach, 3 lines of which one is the link, and I let the users talk.

I understand that people on reddit don't want to read too much about what they don't know about, and maybe, if it's interesting, find out for themselves.

Global stats since I launched (September 6 - September 17):

  • 549 unique visitors
  • 1.6k pageviews
  • 2m 09s visit duration
  • 54% mobile / 46% desktop + tablet (i haven't finished the mobile version, argh)
  • 13 registered users (2.36% CR)
  • 3 active subscriptions (0.54% CR)

    I would replace the mobile version of the site with the desktop version asap. Only mention it doesn't function on mobile after they sign up and open the tool. Most ppl assume these web apps don't work 100% on mobile but the still want to see the screenshots and explainer videos.

    Wow, 11k views from 2 upvotes, Reddit is weird.

      You can't believe but we had a lot of traffic from the post that even didn't have any upvotes! (Well, it actually had, but also it had downvotes so the summary number was 0!) People may not vote, not comment but they usually are pretty curious at least to look at the page.

    Your website looks really simple and nice, do you mind me asking what did you use to build it, and what do you use for the blog?

    1. 1

      All custom :)

      Frontend: NextJS (i haven't used a css framework)
      Blog: NextJS + Ghost API
      Backend: NodeJS

      Thank you!

      I just started a little of Reddit ads to test, like 5$/day

July 2022 The idea: why i started developing Planny

Why did I start developing it

It started over 2 months ago, i was searching for a simple schedule manager for my team and obv found many, but none had these 3 features at the same time:

  • minimal ui
  • calendar view
  • simple draft management
  • simple account management
  • only the necessary analytics

So, in my spare time, i started developing a planner that could meet my needs.

I had great challenges to overcome: i worked on the backend, frontend, UI/UX and also the infrastructure.

This is the stack i used to do everything:

Programming languages: NextJS, NodeJS, MySQL
Hosting: Vercel, AWS, PlanetScale
Other: Stripe, Plausible, Figma

It took me 2 months but i’m happy that i learned new cool stuff.

In the last few days I finished developing what it was missing and now i’m in love with the result:

A quick and easy to use Twitter calendar planner with heavy focus on the content, simple draft management and useful and easy-to-read analytics for growing faster.

What are the differences between planny and other tools?

  • Finally a clean, distraction-free calendar and schedule, I don't want a thousand buttons to do one thing;
  • The essential analytics to grow;
  • Super easy multi account management.

Since I have been an indie hacker for a long time (and I have never finish a project) I am happy to finally show you the beta release of Planny.
