May 13, 2021 Previewed Plantoost Pro

Shared a preview of Plantoost Pro to select number of users.

Probably the biggest thing that helped me to pivot to a SaaS model is the amount of feedback and encouragement I have gotten from friends and family. A marketplace where everyone can create courses is not a bad idea but really, what's cooler than an all-in-one business and marketing platform for creators of all kinds?

This is super exciting, and I am very excited to share more with everyone here on Indiehackers.

February 16, 2021 Time to pivot?

Plantoost is now known as online e-learning marketplace but something doesn't feel quite right.

Every now and then, I will get different requests from a variety of creators, and one day, a light bulb went off. I asked myself what if I can launch a new service that provides all that?

Probably the biggest thing that helped me decide to go ahead with the pivot was the fact that I can charge customers a fee and in turn, they get zero transaction fees that benefit them in the long run.

January 5, 2016 100 new signups!

It's been a long slog to get here, but Plantoost just passed 100 signups! This has been the result of several efforts, including blogging, social media marketing and press releases.

We were stuck around 10 signups for a long time, but what really helped was press releases. I contacted a number of press release firms and two of them ended up writing articles that drove a decent amount of traffic and signups. Now I'm just hoping that a lot of them will convert to paying users soon. 🤞

September 25, 2015 Done with MVP

It took a number of weeks, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product for Plantoost. I worked mostly nights and weekends, and I coded the whole thing in Ruby on Rails since that's that I'm the most comfortable with. In hindsight, there were a few features I built that probably could've waited until later. But I'm excited to start talking to customers and see what they think about the product so far!

August 15, 2015 Launched Plantoost as an online elearning platform

I have always wanted to create something I can call my own and today, that dream was achieved.

My dream of wanting to share my knowledge with as many people as possible and make a living doing what I love led me to the idea for Plantoost. I know its going to be a long journey but its going to sprout like weeds, no pun intended.

About

I'm working on Plantoost because there is a lack of education course creation tools for the modern web. It exists to make creating courses easy and hassle-free.
