Discipline system workspace for retail trader

July 15, 2026 Dropped everything to trade 3 years ago, today I am building a minimal workspace system for retail trader to have discipline with real data.

Hi,

I have been working on Platon. This is a site that I wish I had when I started trading three years ago—when I dropped everything, cut all my bridges, and pursued trading.

Back then, I was bombarded with Wild West theories upon theories, not knowing where to begin. Everywhere I tried to start, I felt like I never had enough information to be successful. I thought I had to know everything, to be everything, in order to succeed in trading.

The main problem was that I was living on a day-to-day basis. I thought I had to end every single day green, no matter what, in order to be satisfied and feel like I was working towards something. The emotional rollercoaster for a trader is just insane. I would dump a strategy after one week if I didn’t see a positive result! I felt like it was always the strategy—that if only I could find the perfect strategy, I would finally be successful.

So all I did was seek strategy after strategy. Then, I started journaling each trade. But like usual, we hear the concept of "journaling" and all we do is journal surface-level things that don’t really matter, alongside screenshots showing a different strategy every week. How do you expect to know what went wrong? What was it—variance, randomness, the strategy, or you? You will never know unless you commit to one.

There came a burning point where, after a year of hopping from strategy to strategy, I had to sit down and look at my life. I had no backup plan, no other things going for me. All I did was wake up, do my routine, trade, and sleep. I couldn't afford to jump back and forth any longer. So I sat down and decided to commit to one strategy—supply and demand—after having switched countless times. I said to myself, "If this doesn’t work, it is what it is, but at least I'm going to keep using this one strategy no matter the outcome, until I see success, no matter how long it takes." So I stuck to it.

But this doesn’t make you profitable suddenly. I had to waste years just to learn that it is not the strategy; it is on you to build a real system around your strategy. You have to transition away from guessing, depending on your mood, or hoping you're feeling "creative" enough to win in the market. I'm sorry to say, but that approach is completely false.

All I had to do was repeat the strategy long enough, journal the actual trade metrics (not how I felt), and collect data day by day. Once you have a real sample size, you can spot the most obvious patterns in your execution. In my case, simply cutting out Wednesday trades—where I now just sit on my hands—increased my expectancy so much that it was a no-brainer.

I got obsessed with gathering data. I collect daily MAE, MFE, post-MAE, post-MFE, time to BE, average holding time, exit time, entry time, etc. There is so much that I track at the end of each session. That was the real game-changer, and it's what I wish I had when I started.

This is why I built Platon. I asked myself: What if there was a real system, a real place where you could commit to a sample size you're comfortable with, select specific filters, and build around your assets? A place to just focus on what you can control and cut out all the noise. You don’t need to know everything—just commit to your strategy. You can learn strategies anywhere; you can ask ChatGPT or Gemini for the technical side of it. After that, all that's left is to execute. Write your rules, execute cleanly, finish your sample size, and take that collected data to the edge builder.

Right there is where you can truly see what your edge is doing. We refine it, because there is always going to be a pattern. There is always something leaking your expectancy and your PnL. With your hard-earned data and the discipline to stick to it, you'll have visual proof of what is wrong. You refine it, adjust it, and deploy it again as a commitment.

Platon is the workspace that makes this possible. This isn’t a journal filled with fancy, useless graphs designed just to fill up space and look complicated. I am bringing a minimal design and a calm workspace where you can manage your data and journal how you want. Platon is just going to collect your data based on the commitment you've built, integrated with your favorite broker.

We share the same goal: to give you real data and a real opportunity to be profitable. All of it is based on your hard-earned data to make changes in real life—without losing anything, but gaining discipline. Gaining what trading truly is: not noise, not guesses, not hoping, not trying to learn everything, and not paying thousands upon thousands for information that is already out there for free. The only things that matter are your discipline, how much you want it, and how far you're willing to go. Platon is the workspace built to handle that. Again, we share the same goal: finding success in the trading space without the noise and without the information overload.

I want to make it clear that Platon is in active development right now. The commitment builder is already done, and I've created a waitlist for anyone interested, or for any trader who just wants to see what it is. You can ask me anything. I need your advice and your feedback, because otherwise, this can't become a place built for you, the user.

So I'm going to drop the link here. There's no obligation to check it out—I am not trying to sell you anything. I just want to show you that this vision can be achieved, and that we can build a place for serious traders and beginners alike to have a real system to work with, instead of relying on guesses and hope: https://www.platonhq.app

I want to thank everyone who read this. I'm just glad I got to share what I wanted to express. Thank you, genuinely.

What stood out isn't the trading journal—it's the commitment system. Most traders believe they need a better strategy when they actually need enough disciplined execution to discover whether their current strategy has an edge. I'd keep validating whether traders are buying analytics or a system that prevents them from abandoning statistically valid strategies before the evidence is in. That's a much stronger positioning than another trading journal.

Hey Aryan, thank you so much for this comment. You hit the nail on the head, and that is exactly what Platon is built for.

Most people think they need a new strategy or more information because they are terrified of missing out on what they think trading is. But the entire purpose of Platon is to help users treat trading as a mathematically backed system. Instead of chasing a magical strategy or hunting ghosts, Platon helps you put your current strategy to work, let it breathe, and let it show what it actually has to offer.

With a proper sample size and data collection, Platon helps you see exactly what your current version needs, rather than blindly hopping from strategy to strategy—a trap I fell into myself. You let the data show you what needs to be cut and what needs to change. Then, the loop repeats. That is trading: the market changes, and we have to sit tight and adapt, while strictly avoiding the trap of over-adjusting, It all comes down to commitment and sample size. I want Platon to be a workspace system, not just another journal. Sure, there will be chart analysis because you still need to see the visual data, but it will only be what is actually necessary—not useless features filling the space just to look good. At its core, Platon is a system built by a trader, for traders, where the tool and the user share the exact same goal.

Really appreciate you calling out that positioning. I'm focusing heavily on my own live execution right now, but feedback like this is exactly why I'm building this. Thanks for the support!

I think that's the most interesting direction of Platon.

Reading your reply gave me one thought about what changes when a trading tool stops being a place to record decisions and becomes a system that protects traders from their own decision cycles.

I don't think that distinction can be explained properly in a few comments because it depends on how you're thinking about the product category.

If you're interested, what's the best email to reach you on?

Hey Aryan, you've put that incredibly well, the exact heartbeat of what I'm trying to solve. I'd love to chat more about this but doesn’t let me, so I put it in my profile,

I’m currently completely dialed into my own live market execution right now, so my email replies might be a bit slow, but I’d love to connect peer-to-peer and swap thoughts when we both have a breather. Looking forward to it!

            Completely understand.

Honestly, I think staying close to your own execution is probably the best input for building this kind of product. A trading tool built without that feedback loop can easily drift into features instead of solving the real behavioral problems traders face.

Would be great to exchange thoughts whenever timing makes sense. Good luck with the live execution — looking forward to seeing how Platon evolves.

Retail trader, every strategy works, you just don’t give it enough time and consistency for it to show its power, Platon removes all of that with real discipline system and workspace.
