PlugAndClaw

Secure Managed OpenClaw Hosting, Live in Under 1 Minute

March 8, 2026 I built a (yes, another one) managed OpenClaw hosting service. Here's why.

I work 9-5 as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 consultant for government agencies. Not exactly the startup founder profile. But I've been using OpenClaw since it's release and saw a problem nobody was solving properly at the time.

42,000+ OpenClaw instances were exposed on the internet right in the first week. No firewall, no authentication, no encryption. People want a personal AI assistant but don't know how to lock down a Linux server. And honestly, they shouldn't have to.

So I started to build PlugAndClaw. Ofcourse my dilligent nature made me overthink and spend allot of time on details and second geussing myself. And ofcourse..someone else released it and blew up overnight (simpleclaw). I was kicking myself. Anyway I decided to learn from the people that released the same idea before me. Here is how is works. You sign in, pick your AI model, pay, connect a Telegram bot, and your dedicated server is live in under a minute. LUKS encrypted disk, UFW firewall, Caddy reverse proxy with auto-SSL, device pairing enforced. All the security stuff that most self-hosters skip or misconfigure.

Every user gets their own VPS. Not a shared container, not a multi-tenant setup. A full isolated server on Hetzner in Europe. $39.50/month with $20 in AI credits included (Claude, GPT, Gemini, and more). You can also bring your own API keys if you prefer.

I'm a solo founder, built the entire thing with AI tools, and launched about two weeks ago. No funding, no team, just nights and weekends around a day job and a baby.

Happy to answer any questions about the tech stack, the business model, or what it's like building a SaaS as a complete non-developer.

OpenClaw is powerful but most people don't have the Linux knowledge to self-host it securely. I saw thousands of exposed instances online and thought there had to be a better way.
