October 7, 2024 A Headless CMS That Puts Writing First

I'm excited to share a project I've been working on called PMKIN. It's a headless CMS designed to make your content creation process smoother and more enjoyable.

The Content Creation Challenge

We've all been there, right? You start a website and add a few markdown files for your blog, which works great for a while.

But then things start to grow. Maybe you're scaling up your content production or want to bring in non-technical team members to contribute. Suddenly, your simple setup feels a bit limiting. Your content updates are tied to your deployment pipeline, and asking everyone to learn Git isn't exactly ideal. 😅

Enter the Headless CMS

This is typically when people start looking at headless CMS solutions. These solutions are great because they integrate with your existing website instead of requiring a complete overhaul.

I've used quite a few different headless CMS platforms. While they're fantastic for organizing and structuring content, I noticed they weren't designed with the writing experience in mind.

PMKIN: Putting the Focus Back on Writing

That's where PMKIN comes in. It's a headless CMS that prioritizes the writing experience. Here's what we're aiming for:

  1. A Better Writing Environment: We want to give you a writing experience that's as pleasant as platforms like Medium or Substack but integrated with your website.

  2. Easy Integration: PMKIN is designed to work smoothly with your existing website setup, providing a GraphQL API and markdown content.

  3. Scalability: Whether you're a solo blogger or managing a team of writers, PMKIN aims to simplify the process.

  4. Publishing Simplicity: Take your content from draft to published without jumping through hoops.

What PMKIN Offers

Look, I've been there. I've felt the frustration of writing in one place, formatting in another, and then struggling to get it all onto my website. PMKIN is my attempt to solve these pain points.

We're not trying to reinvent the wheel here. We're just trying to make it roll a little smoother, you know? 😉

PMKIN is about giving you a tool that respects your time and creative process. It's about making the technical side of content management a little less... well, technical.

Interested in Giving it a Try?

PMKIN is still in development, but we're working hard to create a tool that makes content creation and management more accessible and more enjoyable.

If you're tired of content workflows that feel like obstacle courses, keep an eye out for PMKIN. We're not promising to change the world, but we do hope to make your writing life a bit easier.

And hey, who knows? Maybe with the time you save wrangling your CMS, you'll write something that does change the world. No pressure though – we'll be happy if you just write something you're proud of. 😊

Stay tuned for updates, and happy writing! ✍️💻
