Pocket CTO
Technical advice for non-technical founders
I sat on this idea for 4 months. I'm sorry to both you and my future self. The problem was illustrated again recently with clients on a call.
They realize that they are making important decisions that determine the trajectory of their businesses and they don't want to make a mistake. That's the role that a CTO fills in an organization. Helping to make these decisions.
The problem arises when the business can't afford to hire a CTO or they don't want to. Non-technical founders may be in the early stages of their company and the thought of bringing on a CTO at that point is a pipe-dream. Of course, a technical co-founder solves this problem but also presents a list of other challenges.
We're a service designed to address this gap. We are for non-technical founders that need technical advice that can't or don't want to take on a CTO.
I came up with the idea after talking to three clients in one week. Each of the projects was in its early phases and we were still ideating on what their potential solution could look like. They were all non-technical people who had a problem to solve and simply weren't aware of their landscape of choices.
If they had a technical person with them, I suspect we wouldn't even be talking. But they didn't. It seems technically minded people are few and far between and it's difficult to find one with a broad scope of the technology landscape.
