Poda
Product Strategy Software & Roadmap Tool
For the past few months I've bene focusing on improving the core Poda experience, the tree view board. For this I have been working on the details editor trying to get users to bring more content into Poda rather making it the hub for there product information. This has led to some small user growth, and we've acquired a few more paying customers.
We've made our first sale 🎉 and we have a strong roadmap but as with side hustle life our current product designer has other commitments that impact his ability to deliver.
I thought I'd reach out to the Indie hacker community to look see if we can find another motivated like minded hacker looking to try their hand at a new project.
We're looking for a Product designer to join the team consisting of an Engineer and PM each with 10+ years in the industry. You should love building products and have experience with modern product practices as thats the core of our product empowering teams to focus on outcomes over output.
Located in Australia and US we're happy to for people in any timezone to work Async
🤞Hope to hear from you soon

We got our first paying customer which is great validation that there is a bit of value in what we are doing, I know there is still a long way to go yet but its added some fuel to the fire to stay motivated.
Our next goal is 10, although as an engineer I find it hard to focus on customer development, especially when there are some great features in the pipeline waiting for me to develop. This week though i'm going to focus on trying to grow the community, lets see how I go

To kick start our premium product we've launched with a lifetime deal for the first 100 customers with no restrictions on seats or usage. We're still offering a free tier however this is rate limited to 25 nodes.
So if your planning your next Indie project kick start it with Poda and grow with us, we'll be working closely with these founding members to help shape our product roadmap and deliver the features that matter most
Look forward to hearing from you soon

After Joining in the 100 in 100 program I realised there was no chance to compete as Poda didn't have the ability to bill customers 😱, this was the motivation I needed to double down and get it done.
During April I have bene focused on getting a billing up and running and I'm now just testing before its upcoming release. This is a big milestone for Poda, although I'm no expecting a runaway success at this stage, it will be key in validating the viability of the product .
Up next is refining the experience when creating node details, trying to find that sweet spot between features and usability so people would consider using Poda for the documentation over something like Notion. We known that we won't be able to compete with the likes of Notion document creation is their core product, but we hope to create an experience nice enough that it allows people to keep all their plans in the one tool.

Found the 100 in 100 group here on Indi Hackers and seemed like a great way to keep me accountable and to try and drive some much need growth for Poda. Group seems great and have generated some early leads, let's hope they stay engaged and remain active.
First stop as part of the event is to add some pricing support back to the platform, then roll out to some product hunt alternative platforms, before moving up to a v2.0 release on Product hunt.

Over the past 12 months we have refined the board experience and improved collaboration, but we are still struggling to retain and engage users.
I have a vision of empowering more product teams to work in outcome driven environments by enabling them to engage teams and stakeholders in a discovery process focused around outcomes.
If this is something you feel as passionate about as me I would love to chat , If your not up for a chat and are keen to have a poke around and leave some anon feedback that would be cool as well !

Due to work commitments the founder stepped back and passed on the reigns to me. This is the point where I started actively working on poda.
The first point of call is to set up some conversion funnels and making sure we have the some quantitate metrics in place to measure growth.
Our first goal is to increase awareness of Poda and its vision for effectively communicating product strategy across an organisation.

Due to work commitments development stalled on Poda and it was left to run its course for a while.
Traffic was stagnant with a few referrals still coming from Product Hunt and Landing Folio.
Customers were still exploring and engaging with the product activated users spending up to 3 hours on the site per session.

Billing was removed from the site as we wanted to get more customer data and refine our offering to ensure we deliver the best value to our customers while building customer loyalty.
We still pitch the upfront cost to users when they signup so to validate that they would still be willing to commit to payment in the future.
