Launched MVP

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you set up time and scope constraints. I wanted to quickly put together an MVP built as simply as possible, with the least amount of custom code, minimal features, but functional.

So I set some constraints for myself to build the PodGuest.me MVP: Use just a few plain HTML pages, style with TailwindCSS loaded via CDN (no build setup, to save time), and embedded AirTable so I didn't have to code anything from scratch. No logo, no log in, no marketing page, no revenue model, not even analytics at this point. I just wanted to build the thing and release it into the wild.

I got it all to work in one day and released it into the world. The response was amazing! The first one to post on it was Justin Jackson, and then many others, including the legendary Mubs. I am grateful to all of them.

I love the idea of setting really strict time limits. I’ll try it and see what I can get done by EoD Friday 😅

Yes, it really helps. But you must reduce scope in order to be able to reduce time. Good luck! :D

Nice work man. Complete is better than procrastination.

    Great idea for a project!

A couple of design things to consider:

    • On desktop, the 13px and 9px text is very small
    • Also on desktop, the div with the list of interests cuts off at 152px width (e.g. "Development Marketi")

Thank you, Shawn! And thank you for pointing out those design issues. It's currently a simple MVP put together with Airtable, so there's not much I can do about that at the moment. If there's enough interest in the service, then I'll design and code a custom solution. :)

Ah ha...Airtable is one of those things I never got around to checking out so I didn't recognize the formatting. Thanks for explaining!

I like the idea and love the speed of execution!
