After fixing up the codebase, we re-launched Podsheets. New podcasters can now host their podcast on the platform.

For next steps, we are focused on features that make it easier for a professional podcaster to monetize their podcast. We're also planning to raise money in the next few months.

Ever since we shut down Podsheets we had been thinking of ways to reboot it. After Spotify acquired Anchor, the market appeared to be centralizing towards Spotify as a YouTube of podcasts.

Podcasting is still decentralized, but there is not an open source set of tools around it, and the success of closed source platforms suggest an opportunity for an open alternative.

We started Podsheets as a closed source hosting tool for podcasts. Our vision was to take the learnings of scaling Software Engineering Daily and create a tool that makes it easier for podcasters to build full-fledged businesses.

The idea was good, but we had too much going on at the time. A podcast hosting business turned out to be more support-intensive than we expected, and we shut it down after realising it was going to be too demanding.
