A poet should be able to build a personal portfolio site in five minutes.

All they really need is:

• Name
• Photo
• Bio
• Links to published works
• Blog (maybe!)

Existing builder tools like Wordpress, Wix, and Weebly, and Squarespace offer too much functionality that bogs a nontechnical person down.

I am going to build a simple app that allows a poet to create a personal site in five minutes and share it with the world.

This is going to be a massive learning effort for me; I have only done basic HTML/CSS and Javascript before. But I am eager to get started. I'm blessed to have a good friend with ten years' experience as a web developer who is going to guide me through this build.

The next post will feature an outline of the tech stack and MVP functionality I'm going to build.
