June 2, 2026 Building PokerJudge: How I Designed a Free GTO & Range Analyzer for Poker Tech Nerds

Hey fellow hackers,

I’ve been hanging around the indie hacking community for a while, watching amazing builders launch incredible SaaS products. Today, I’m finally stepping out of the shadows to share what I’ve been coding under the hood for the past few months.

It’s called PokerJudge, a clean, fast, and mobile-friendly Texas Hold'em Hand Analyzer and GTO Calculator.

As an independent software developer who also happens to love the intense math behind Texas Hold'em, I always felt frustrated by existing poker tools. They are either:

  1. Clunky desktop software that looks like it was built in 2010.

  2. Bloated platforms locked behind heavy monthly paywalls.

So, I decided to scratch my own itch and "Vibe Code" an alternate reality where complex poker equity and range vs. range math could be computed instantly on a beautiful, modern UI—right from your phone or desktop browser.

🛠️ The Tech Stack & Challenges

Since this community loves the tech side of things, here is how PokerJudge is built to handle heavy probability calculations without bursting into flames:

  • Frontend/Speed: Optimized specifically for fast loading times and zero-lag card inputs, especially on mobile devices.

  • The Math: Simulating complex pre-flop and post-flop equity distributions efficiently without a heavy backend server costs.

(I’m planning to write a detailed, separate post breaking down the exact algorithms and range matrix models I used if anyone is interested!)

💰 Why 100% Free? (The Indie Business Model)

A lot of people ask me, "If GTO data and equity calculators are so high-value, why are you not charging for basic analysis or putting ads all over it?"

Here is my philosophy: Distribution and feedback override early monetization. Right now, my single biggest metric is Product-Market Fit (PMF) and getting real-world feedback from analytical minds. I want to build a tool that players genuinely love using before I even think about premium feature tiers or enterprise API relays.

💬 I’d Love Your Brutal Feedback

I am launching this to the IH community first because you guys have the sharpest eyes for UI/UX flaws and performance bottlenecks.

I would deeply appreciate it if you could take 2 minutes to check it out: https://pokerjudge.com

  • How does the UI feel? Is card input intuitive enough when you’re quickly trying to review a hand?

  • For the poker players here: Are there specific metrics, 3-bet range visualizers, or HUD-style statistics you feel are missing?

  • For the developers: How is the loading speed from your location?

If you have a crazy hand history or a sticky situation from your last home game, drop the details in the comments below! Let’s run the math together and see if you actually made a GTO-approved play. 😉

Cheers, and happy hacking!
